He may have submitted the paperwork keeping in mind the deadline to drop out is February 7 IIRC. So, until he makes an announcement IMO, I think he's getting feedback / maybe trying to get a promise from a team that "if you're still there in round 2/3, we'll pick you" and weighing that against a probably very nice NIL offer here. Maybe I just don't want to give up hope yet. Wouldn't blame him one bit for going to the league. It would be awesome to have him, Marsh, and Becker next year, but when it is your dream, I don't blame him at all for going. Home Jersey 1 Quote

Watching highlights for the season I think he was better than Waffle House tbh. But generally it was pretty even. Next man up. With Cig and the coaching staff, I have 100% faith in the "next man up" approach. tyappleg Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Raiders pairing Mendoza with either Sarratt or Cooper in Rd 2 is my dream scenario. Id have a 2nd NFL team I would definitely be rooting for. Go be great Coop. WayneFleekHoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER, BannerVille and 2 others 5 Quote
Stuhoo Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Signs that he is declaring or told the staff that he intended to? We signed Preston, who likely would not have come to IU as the projected 4th/5th WR. We have no portal entries from Morris, Chandler, and Bond. Becker, Marsh, Preston, Morris, Chandler is an incredibly stacked WR room. Look at the players who played as 2024 freshmen under Cig as one of the surest signs that the staff thinks they are future key pieces. Landino Becker Ndukwe Hardy Jones And from the 2025 season: Chandler Baldwin Burrus Bell Bond Like the five in the 'now featured' category, I am expecting big things from the five in the 2025 'played as freshmen' category. *Ajani not listed because he was featured as a freshman. AH1971 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Sucks to him go but honestly the right move in his part. Plus this helps as a program going forward putting guys in the league. Myles Price and Ke’Shawn Williams both made NFL rosters last year and Sarratt and Cooper are almost assuredly day 2 picks. WayneFleekHoosier and Stuhoo 2 Quote
rcbowla Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Happy for Omar regardless of his "final" choice. Also 100% confident in our WR for next season. I think it'll be a strength of the team regardless if Omar is back or not and only rises, obviously, if he somehow came back. All that said, he's going to the draft and should. I always think about Fryfogle when these scenarios arise. Go chase your dream young man. Home Jersey 1 Quote

If they get into the right fit both of them can have some solid NFL careers. Coop is so good at YAC, and that's a really important stat for those that play on Sundays. moyemayhem 1 Quote

Shouting "Holy ****, there is no way that was a ******* catch!" if I remember correctly. Watching and scrolling through games this year, one thing I've noticed is how aware the WRs all are of their feet and position on the field. As soon as the ball hits the hands, the feet start looking for the ground. Great coaching. I'll miss him, but it was the right decision on his part. After the Catch, it is hard to see him with even more buzz next year (though being WR1 in our repeat would probably do it). J34, Home Jersey, go iu bb and 1 other 4 Quote
