SIAP but 8 assists and 2 steals by Wilkerson to go with his 23 points, most of which came in the 2nd half. That’s the guy who shined out here for SHSU — special player.
Devries went all in for him— and landed a Hell of a plater

We had 3 guys with 5+ assists. I could be wrong but can’t imagine that has happened very many times in recent past.

the fact that one of our best scorers was one of those is a great sign!

Congrats!

Thanks, but I should clarify.  I've been a Mason for 21 years, and sat as acting Master for one of the Degrees on Saturday, as I'll be Master next year! And I'm also in line at the Shrine to be Potentate in 28. Been a Shriner since 2011! We brought in 17 new Nobles. Twas a grand day, and weekend, capped by the Colts and the Hoosiers winning!

I'm a bit concerned with our ability to match up athletically against longer and quicker teams, but man is it nice to see an IU basketball team that can shoot the rock again! Wilkerson is awesome.

Including the exhibition, we’ve now played two teams that historically have long athletic squads and acquitted ourselves well in both.

Wilkerson, Alexis and Tucker are obvious B1G level players. Enright was always going to get by on toughness and grit. Conerway and Bailey have struggled a little in each game, but I’ve seen enough to feel comfortable that they should be able to compete even if they get picked on defensively at times. Sisley probably falls in the latter category too even though he played well today.

We play in a league where guys like Martenelli and Loyer are major pieces. Anthony Leal was one of the best defenders last year. There’s just not that many squads full of NBA plus-level athletes that could potentially overwhelm us.

I worry about depth a little. Thought it might hurt us yesterday with the foul trouble. Rebounding will probably be a struggle. Not bad yesterday but they definitely got some easy putbacks.

Coach managed the foul trouble about as well as anyone could reasonably ask.

My understanding is he was cleared to play against Marq. Not sure why he didn't see the floor at the end

Seemed odd that he wasn't in uniform and didn't do any pre-game warmups after having done so at our home opener.  But I haven't seen anything that suggests any kind of a setback for him.  Maybe learn more during tonight's radio show with Fisch.

Not bad for AI. I swear there was a pic of them together once pre-game, it was probably when Knight returned but can't find it anywhere.

It's appropriate that Miller looks confused and a bit panicked while Woodson looks disinterested.

There were some signs from Jasai Miles today that intrigued me. He really moved his feet well on defense—seems like even though he came here as a scorer, he’s tentative on that end; looking to avoid mistakes.

But he showed signs of athleticism and effort today and he could be reinvented as a multi-positional swing man.

Until today the game has looked way too fast for him; today it appeared to slow down just a little.

He seems to have bought in to his role. The small amount of minutes he gets he plays very hard. Could end up being a solid contributor, which would be a testament to this staff and their ability to develop.

Would anyone care to post a summary of the radio show for those of us who are unable to listen

SIAP - in addition to the ESPN game broadcast, which bodes well for recruiting etc., the game writeup still appears under the NCAMM Top Headlines - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/46908832/tucker-devries-leads-indiana-marquette-chicago

This used to be routine (back in the day). Think we'll be seeing more of it going forward

Went to the game yesterday and Hoosier fans were out in full force.  Seemed about 75% IU fans and 25% Marquette.

The offense was a thing of beauty to watch, sets to consistently get our best shooters open looks and smart drives to the basket.  I'm so happy to see a modern offense finally and not the constant long two point shots.

First time since the Yogi's senior season that we have been actually fun to watch on offense other than when TJD would have to take over games by himself.  Amazing what coaching and some shooters can do.

I apparently can't post the YouTube link because the title has an emoji in it... but Field of 68 has an interview with Wilkerson after yesterday's game. The title of the video quotes Lamar saying "We can play with ANYBODY"

Assembly Hall is going to have some great moments this year. DDV told the team they had a bad defensive game because they kept letting Marquette get two feet in the paint, we didn't guard as well as we could've. We can be a great defensive team because our team knows you have to be tough to go into battle and win. That's pretty much the gist of the interview.

Hate when these social media geniuses do that. This is the full show sans emoji and I popped it up where the Lamar interview starts.

my take aways from this, Goodman is a goober (always has been). Lamar is advertised. Kid just seems to be so relaxed, but determined to have a great season. Great kid to rep IU!

Checking in, didn't get to watch because of YouTube TV. But wow, from what i've heard and clips here and there, this is a style of play that was missed for the last eight years.

I need to learn the roster and watch the game, but I'm excited. I can finally enjoy watching the team, the last four years were unwatchable obviously.

Doesn't take much to learn the roster because 1) there's only 7-8 playing right now 2) they all play their ***** off so you immediately get behind them and learn who's who.
