This could be fun for the sake of fun and for the sake of perception.  
 

Here’s where my mind goes though.  Is he as a freshman as good as year 3 Marsh or even Becker?  Unlikely?  Idk.  Maybe he is and if so, WOW. 
 

The beautiful thing here is I trust the staff and Cig to find a piece one way or another that gives us a chance to compete at the top.

With Cig I’m not really sure Becker or Marsh are here next year

I wasn’t thinking that.  I’m expecting both are likely gone.  More the point our WR room looks great this year.  And Cig can grab a Marsh-like WR out of the portal with experience again.  It’s the experience vs youth debate.  Although with Sales, you get 2 years.  So that’s a bonus if ready year 1.

Yea, I think they're looking at whatever Sales costs and comparing it to portal options.  Agree, if we didn't get him there is always the portal, which is why I wouldn't be too down if we don't get him.

I think he's three seasons before the pros.  I'd guess he won't be a Marsh or Becker guy off the bat due to age and experience, but perhaps towards the end of season one he's a material contributor and certainly future seasons the rare big upside potential is there.  We'll see...

Probably true but I do think optics are part of the situation here, keeping a 5* WR home, and beating out the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, and Texas is significant for Indiana.

 

Quite literally probably never been done, at least not with this prized of a recruit.
