Any idea why he would take a lateral move or is he going to be assistant head coach too?

My guess is more money and probably associate head coach title.   If Adam’s is getting 400,000 which was more than any assistant on Woodys staff I’m guessing his will be more.  Only 32

I had hoped with the previous NBA background coach, IU would lead the B1G out of the lumbering style of basketball.. WTH was I thinking??

Hope DDV will do it now!

I don't think it's even an option with our current roster, lol.

This fan base is so bi polar

We have complained for years about our roster construction under Woodson and that we played to many big me. Now we are complaining about our roster construction under a brand new coach because there aren't enough big men. He is a new coach so why not see how he does before making judgments on his roster construction and how fast we hired assistant coaches. We all look at this next year but coaches have to look at more than 1 year down the road when it comes to these things. He could have quickly hired assistants but maybe he wanted to get these guys to make sure they will be the right fit.

Adam's isn't being paid more than Woodson assistants. Hunter was getting $450k before an annual retention bonus and other bonuses. He was making over $500k all said. Rosemond also had a base salary over $400k and had similar bonuses.

DeVries is cooking.  Just stole an SEC teams top assistant.  A sec team that just went to back to back elite 8s.   Not even May and DeVries has 3 assistants that are known to get dudes and has a roster of 11 possibly 12.    Heck of a job in my opinion.   Impressed

That same team where there best player Lanier was from a mid major N. Florida and was recruited by Clark

Wrong thread. This is the thread where you ask why would a P5 assistant coach take a job at IU. There are several other threads for you to complain about the fans questioning the roster construction, the roster thread and transfer portal thread seem like good spots.

Isn't it time for you to get some new material

When they first started out compared to what Adam’s is making to start out yeah he is making more then them in their respected 1st years

Tennessee premium board sees it as a big loss.    Shouldn’t be hard to fill his spot if your Barnes.   His first call has to be Rodney Terry to see if he would want to come back on as an assistant

Good. Still have some skepticism since we seemingly missed on the guys from Bama and TT. Hopefully he really is a top guy on that TN staff and we reap the benefits

Well, he was a crappy NBA coach before he was a crappy college coach... no worries, though, bad man is gone.

There's a new sheriff in town, and Rod Clark is an excellent hire...

I had no worries on missing those guys.   DeVries had a connection and swung for the fence.  Murphy is considered by some the best young assistant in the whole game today.   Bama and Texas Tech stepped up and gave them both raises.   DeVries still got a couple sharks even missing on those 2

By “we” you must mean a small minority of message board posters who are absolutely entitled to a differing opinion.

Rabby is saying the Clark addition might round out the coaching staff. He has backtracked from Bargen not being in a coaching to position to now saying he'll be a coach but not do much recruiting. Adams, Clark, and Johnson will be the recruiters.

He's not 100% on this, but is he ever? Says that adding Justin Bailey is still a possibility.
