No Dolson just mentioned that him and Harper watched DeVries twice the last 3 years once in the 2nd half vs Miami on the tourney before IU played Kent State and once in the Bahamas before IU Played. There is wild WVU fan conspiracy's that IUs wanted him since Atlantis and shortly after This son shut it down for the year and it was like 2 days later Woodson news broke. Son and Dad both knew they would get better pay days at IU 8bucks 1 Quote
ronzo4IU Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I believe we got exactly what Indiana University needs right now and also forever which is a hungry but humble down to earth basketball coach that has a ton of passion and IQ for the job. I’m super excited. This is a breath of fresh air that has sorely been needed. No more drama queen stuff…just nose to the grindstone team basketball…heck yes!! Go IU!!!! But DDv did allude to Scott/IU respecting his WVU season during the process—intimating they were in contact probably a few months ago at least. Now it's time to get to work and it has to start with the work... because without that you cannot have success. ... resources do not win games." ....I think the last coach thought this! Do you say “hey, it’s my kid and not my money, so back up the bricks truck and pay the kid.” Or does he get him for a more sensible amount, or even discount, so he can try and leverage more of that money into a championship caliber roster? go iu bb, BannerVille and Shooter 3 Quote

He doesn't seem the kind to throw shade like that in an introductory press conference, at least right now he doesn't seem to be. Home Jersey 1 Quote
Ghost of Rick Majerus Posted March 19 Posted March 19 He seems as though he teaches hard work and modern offense. Couple that with his ability to build a "TEAM" and I am 100% in. Dave from Dayton, BGleas and JF87 3 Quote

How is it possible that IU has had so many bad shooters? It seems impossible. I believe that neither coach recruited Indiana all that well for shooters Quote

Popular Post JustWinBaby Posted March 19 Popular Post Posted March 19 If anyone would like to watch a really great example of how a DeVries-coached team plays, here's the extended highlights from 2023 (12) Drake vs (5) Miami. The game basically came down to one possession, and Drake missed a 3 to tie it near the end. This is the same Miami team that bludgeoned Indiana to death in the second round and made a Final Four run (where they lost to eventual champion UConn). And DeVries' Drake team had them on the ropes. Aside from the UConn loss, this was Miami's closest game of the tourney. One thing I found interesting in watching this: being a highlight video, it basically shows no missed shots, but even on Drake's defensive possessions when they gave up points, the discipline of the defense is there. Often times Miami just hit really tough shots. Drake looked to be the better team when it came to fundamentals and offensive gameplan. ThompsonHoosier, go iu bb, jonz44 and 6 others 8 1 Quote
