I missed the presser, is this where that came from?

No Dolson just mentioned that him and Harper watched DeVries twice the last 3 years once in the 2nd half vs Miami on the tourney before IU played Kent State and once in the Bahamas before IU Played.

There is wild WVU fan conspiracy's that IUs wanted him since Atlantis and shortly after This son shut it down for the year and it was like 2 days later Woodson news broke. Son and Dad both knew they would get better pay days at IU

I believe we got exactly what Indiana University needs right now and also forever which is a hungry but humble down to earth basketball coach that has a ton of passion and IQ for the job. I’m super excited. This is a breath of fresh air that has sorely been needed.

No more drama queen stuff…just nose to the grindstone team basketball…heck yes!!

Go IU!!!!

Yeah that Tucker conspiracy is dumb.
But DDv did allude to Scott/IU respecting his WVU season during the process—intimating they were in contact probably a few months ago at least.

"The resources available here are some of the best in the entire country. We have a fanbase that is passionate about the Hoosiers and provides a tremendous home court advantage. Everything is in place here to win and to win at a high level. And it's our job to make it happen. Now it's time to get to work and it has to start with the work... because without that you cannot have success. ... resources do not win games."

....I think the last coach thought this! Look what 5 mil did for him.

I have no idea, but that could have been more indirect contact through agents, etc.

I have to say, I do find it intriguing how he’s going to handle Tuckers NIL. Do you say “hey, it’s my kid and not my money, so back up the bricks truck and pay the kid.” Or does he get him for a more sensible amount, or even discount, so he can try and leverage more of that money into a championship caliber roster?

I am sure that he believes that (team vs collection)... and if he has seen any of Indiana basketball in the past 3-4 years, he has to know that was what Woodson did... so can't say it was actually a shot at Woodson, it was truth...

He doesn't seem the kind to throw shade like that in an introductory press conference, at least right now he doesn't seem to be.

Hopefully his NIL is largely an allowance from dear old Dad lol

This is maybe the most painful part of the last 8 years of IU basketball (well, that and the losing).

How is it possible that IU has had so many bad shooters? It seems impossible.

I believe that neither coach recruited Indiana all that well for shooters

West Virginia fans are salty because tucker did actually get 1 million in NIL from them. I assume we’ll pay him similar since he’s not an NBA player most likely and it may be his last payday

most people think he will lose but at the end of the day its all about what the ncaa thinks so in the meantime i hope you are right

You don't know until you try.  You miss all the shots you don't take. (It's amazing where that saying can apply.)

Maybe Rice to help on D.  Other than that, I don't think anyone else fits.

Rice doesn't have a B1G PG body, doesn't have a tight handle for a PG or good court vision. He could occasionally freelance and get a basket. Never seemed to know what the offense was, although he wasn't alone.
