He’s a big man. Maybe?

Would seem a little strange to me if he were to go into the portal and transfer from Illinois to Indiana.  I would assume he is going to be starting again next year for the Illini if he comes back.  Illinois had a pretty good team last year and I would think that the NIL was okay there.  He is from Mississippi so it wouldn't surprise me to see him go back down south.

That said, would love to have him.

Long snapper committed. Preferred walk on.

Someone on one of the forms was really worried about long snappers. Hope they’re happy!

Sam Lindsey from Georgia State. 3 years eligibility.

Hemby and Beebe have big play ability unlike any player our offense had this past season.

I wonder what coach didn't like about Elijah Green? Did he feel like he was undersized? He was lightning in a bottle, I really hoped he'd get more playing time this past year and was sure he would get more this coming season and then he entered the portal. He must have seen the writing on the wall. I will be interested to see where he ends up and how he does.

Perhaps it is all about $?

Maybe, but I can't imagine he could have demanded that much, there was still a reason(s) why Cignetti didn't see him as a high value RB.

Very unlikely it's about money.

Elijah Green looked like a big talent in garbage time when he shot through holes like a rocket.

But the coaches saw him every. single. day. In pass blocking, whether he made unforced mistakes, his attitude, whether he could catch passes out of the backfield. Lots and lots of stuff.

You're probably right....I just didn't hear any of those things during the season.

My guess is that pass protection may have been an issue - but I certainly don't know that to be the case.

No almost about it. The smart MM coaches are gonna tailor their recruiting pitches to, “Come here and in 2 years our development program and contacts will have you in a power conference.”  Can see a scenario where schools at that level become de facto minor league feeders for specific programs.
Cig: “We like your talent, but you need some development. Go play for Jason Candle at Toledo and we’ll revisit your progress until you’re ready for IU.” Can absolutely see that happening.

Something Osterman has mentioned a few times is the idea of incorporating Transfer Fees (gaining program compensates losing program) similar to European Soccer - I doubt it will gain steam in the States in the immediate future, but it is an interesting idea.

It will be interesting to see what the rev share contracts look like.  NIL deals are obviously private, but for public schools I'm sure journalists (or forum posters) will FOIA the players' rev share contracts.

There won't be transfer fees, but perhaps we see buyouts in those rev share contracts.  That would be a good thing imo -- some compensation for the school that developed the player, and it makes transfers a bit more costly, which could reduce the number of transfers.  I don't think the buyouts will be large, but just having those in there would be useful.  We'll see.

In general, I'm glad players are getting paid, but as part of that I'd like to see the employee/employer relationship professionalized more than it is now -- as is contracts that look like the pro ones.

Hopefully that means a TE in transfering in?

He’s a redshirt 3 star? Maybe was told he wouldn’t see the field? Goodluck to wherever he lands!

One already did transfer in -- Riley Nowakowski from Wisky.
