1st sense of where the wind is blowing, IU falls to 10th in the Coaches Poll.

With the U and SMU just above us, it feels like we usurp whomever of them loses the ACC title game.

When you lose matters.  IU just lost, Notre Dame lost early.  They'll easily be ahead of us

Look... they're Notre Dame.  They're always going to get the benefit of the doubt.

Besides, a lot of the SEC lost, and that's gonna throw the playoff bids into chaos, so with our one loss, we're fine.  Losing to Ohio State actually is a blessing.  Now, if we lose to the Toiletmakers, on the other hand...

Crush Purdue and we’re in.

Also we’re rooting for SYR over Miami

Gamecocks over Clemson

USC over ND

Vandy over Tennessee

GT over UGA

Cal over SMU

Won’t surprise me to see 3/6 of those happening.

But the most important thing is that we cannot allow PU eternal joy by ruining our season.

Nope! Back in 2007, which is probably the closest year that parallels this crazy season, West Virginia was a win away from playing for the national championship. They just had to get past a 4-7 Pittsburgh, at home no less, and they lost. They still talk about that game like Buckner in Boston.

Now this Purdue team is awful, but we need to get our passing game rolling again before the post season. There is going to be more chaos next weekend. Texas, Miami, Notre Dame, and Tennessee are all on the road against competitive opponents. Then there is Clemson v South Carolina and Cal v SMU. If Michigan’s offense clicks like it did yesterday, they have enough talent on defense to hang with OSU. Even Georgia Tech isn’t going to be easy for Georgia, nor Arizona for Arizona State.

You cannot understate rivalry week chaos when there’s finally parity in this sport. Just win and don’t give the committee any excuses to think twice about Indiana being on the bubble.

Found this to be interesting..looked at ESPN's Top 100 NFL Draft Rankings. There are three teams that have 4 or more guys on defense in the top 100.

Ohio State and Georgia with 5. (Downs would make 6 but he is a So.) Michigan with 4. It's obvious why IU struggled with Michigan in the 2nd half and Ohio State most of the game. I would hope to certainly avoid Georgia in the playoffs. Outside of them and OSU... Other playoff contenders with 2 guys in the top 100: Penn State, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.

Kind of makes me feel better about the playoffs. Notre Dame only has one and I think he is out for the season. Texas on defense only has one.

As big of an IU homer I am, Kurtis and Kamara are the only guys that I've read getting real draft buzz. Maybe Katic and Carter Smith late. I think we get easily overmatched against teams that have NFL talent all over the field on defense.

To be honest I never really expected us to beat Ohio State in Columbus, but I have seen them play 3 or 4 times this season and this was Howard's best game, maybe not numbers wise, but his decision making was his best, maybe partly because he faced very little pass rush. On the other hand I thought this was easily one of our worst games, of course part of that was the OSU DL, but we also made a number of unforced errors and had dropped passes and the play calling did not find the weaknesses in Ohio State's defense that other teams found. When teams like Alabama, Georgia, and Texas have bad performances they are considered a fluke, but when Indiana lays an egg it is who we are....I think this team can still, win a game in the CFP, maybe more?

This will change through more wins. Most of the country has this perception of IUFB and rightly so. This is brand new territory for the program. It's not for the coaching staff but it is for the program. We'll make noise in the CFP wherever we end up playing. I foresee this being the new expectations for IUFB going forward... and it's spectacular!!!!

Heather Dinich is such a traitor. She keeps attacking us.

She's just a talking bobble head for ESPN at this point. She knows who signs her paychecks. Most of the folk at ESPN keep going after IUFB. It's all good though, being 10-1 in the Big Ten will get you in the EXPANDED CFP.

I would feel great about a PSU - Miami path to the final 4.
