The ballooning NIL seems unsustainable. Huge salaries of NBA players are repaid in owner revenues. A large portion of NIL comes from donors that receive nothing but some grovelling and good seats for the games. How long will the Gabe Cupps of the world command $1M?

The shiny new toy syndrome will eventually wear off with any team if the donors pump in  huge cash and end up with Mike Woodson type results for any length of time.

The NCAA doesn't have a great recent track record for winning lawsuits and part of the reason for that is how inconsistent they are in both their rules and enforcement. If they were to get sued in court by Goode, they'd almost certainly lose.

Donations for NIL are often just rounding errors from investments for the ultra wealthy. It's all just bragging rights and power to them. The money is largely insignificant to large donors. The ultra-wealthy's piece of the pie is growing fairly quickly historically in this country, so I can see NIL increasing steadily correlated to the wealth gap just as easy as it contracting due to losses. This is play money.

Are the rules or the law what is important? I get where you're coming from, but the NCAA seems to have been acting illegally and largely unchallenged for a long, long time.

You should have just said in the first place that you just didn't want him to win. Your opinion, however, does not have an effect on the chances he would win a lawsuit against the NCAA. His chances of winning are very high, so high that the NCAA will probably grant him another year to avoid a lawsuit.

To this point, no one that fits Goode's profile -- playing ten games in the second half of a season -- has been granted a redshirt.  Saying his chances are 'very high' is a false narrative.  Marcus Domask had a stronger case that Goode did and hired lawyers as well.  Didn't get an extra year.

That wasn't my opinion though? I said I don't think he should/will. I want him to win. 

All year, even this week, lotssss of posts have stated he won't get an extra year... now all of a sudden it's morphed into he will, without a doubt, get an extra year or the NCAA will be sued. Not buying it.

Posters are complaining about the NCAA rules, and compliance.  Wondering about who is to blame for the NCAA decisions and compliance.  Is it true that we...the universities...are actually the decision makers?  If that really is the case, is it true that our universities are to blame?  (I have seen the enemy...they are us.)

You did not say "should/will." You literally said "I don't think Luke should win" which is an opinion. If you meant "will" you should have used that instead.

Did Domask actually sue? I really think the NCAA would lose if it went to court.

Edit: he also played 10 out of 26 games. I'm not sure how that is a stronger case. Luke is under the 30% threshold just at the wrong time of year. Domask was over that threshold. So they would be making different arguments.
