It's going to be hard to get deep without Dix.

I'll see myself out...

I never watched his game and don’t know how aggressive he is on the court.

Would you say Dix plays hard or soft?

To the credit of this discussion group, I have seen very, very little panic.

There is a mindset adjustment that we all should embrace IMO. Everybody hears CDD say that we need players that fit to form a team; not a collection of talent, and thinks that makes perfect sense. But then, given our Woodson experience, we see talented pieces go elsewhere and it's easy to think "oh no!" Remember what made sense all along - we are building a team, not collecting talent pieces.

  • If our coaching staff is good enough, they will take that assembled team and do well with it.
  • If they are not good enough, all the talented pieces in the world won't compensate.

We already have one alpha player/scorer/leader; Tucker Devries. And no one knows CDD's system better than him.

Enright is likely a huge pickup. Plus defender, big-time passer and floor leader, and most importantly; has experienced and can communicate what CDD wants to new additions.

We won the last two off seasons, and this is what we have to show for it. I don't mind letting this play out.

Really, other teams get to offer money? Dang wish we would have known that when everyone was saying that Indiana's NIL is such a big advantage. Who knew Creighton had 10 million to offer?

It's ok to say we're off to a rough start, but I still think we will be fine in the long run. I haven't lost faith. But there is no way this is going how he thought it would.

And winning year 1 is critical for future recruiting classes.

Nah. In both cases, non-money and non-basketball issues won out. IU has absolutely zero control over those issues.

You can only control what you can control.

I definitely missed it. What were the non-money, non-basketball issues with Conwell?

This is the 2nd player we've offered or almost offered 2 million to that said no thanks. That has to be slightly concerning.

I think it is different in this case if it was about being close to family

if his Mom is sick and he's playing close to home for that reason...then I applaud the kid!

.....there is NO way I would move away when my mom or dad was very sick or even terminal. I may want to go to a certain school, but playing as close to home as possible would be my only option.

Purdue parents. Family originally from Louisville and I think it was said there is some family still there - some said it's like a second home to him. Prior relationship with Kelsey from last year.

Conwell's dad's family is from L'ville. A bunch of them still live there and he used to visit them a lot there, so he has a lot of familiarity with the city already. I remember reading a couple of articles about that after he commited. They popped into my social media feed.
