May Pearl just knows Ball and he can at least give us the correct perspective of what it takes to build and maintain a program. Plus if you think about it there is some upside. He would now work for blue blood program for his first time (at least I think we can be again). He has the southern recruit scene covered and with the Midwest ground that could give us a chance for a final four run in a six year window. Age is just a number for me but context matters. I was negative about Woodson but I wouldn’t be for Pearl. Pearl loves the entirety of college basketball. Oats is a younger version of Pearl and May, with a proper defensive assistant coach, can work as well. May at least has humility and doesn’t mind readjusting. JimmerNoe Posted February 27, 2024 Posted February 27, 2024 I just wish the timeline would line up for us where the right guy was the right age with the right pedigree. Any examples of this elsewhere where a job opens up and the perfect guy for that place is also available? Obviously there have been lots of good hires in hindsight but a hypothetical would be like Dusty is coming off a few really good years at a high major right when the IU job comes available?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Chris007 1

I think the direction we would like to head in a perfect world is Pearl till he retires and then Dusty I don’t think Pearl would demand it. Besides it’s not like a team wouldn’t give his son a chance. Minnesota gave Pitino’s kid one… AZ Hoosier and Chris007 2

Popular Post Hoosierfan2017 Posted February 27, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 27, 2024 Folks are trying to talk themselves out of Pearl. Don’t. He’s a winner. Simple as that. He’s won at every single school he’s coached at. If he comes to IU he will win here too. Guaranteed. Now, he may only win for 5-6 years before he retires, but he will win. And you know what 5-6 years of winning does to the IU job? It makes it a helluva lot more attractive for the next hire. KnightsChair, raorIU, FWHoosier84 and 24 others 27

Popular Post Trish Posted February 27, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 27, 2024 Good morning folks. Today we have a chance to move the needle further in removing Woodson from position. As much as it sucks to say this, Wisconsin needs to do their job and help us out. KnightsChair, IUGRAD06, Ngw7183 and 9 others 10 2

But probably only for a few years until he’s 70 and ready to retire. We are dying for stability. I wish we could CGI De-age him a couple years like Harrison Ford. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk But if we hire him maybe we could get an Alimony's to open on Kirkwood.
