lillurk Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Not sure I buy that, BUT he did say on Senior Day ‘24 that he’d be the coach as long as he wanted to be. He surely knows more than most about the writing on the wall; if he still believes what he said, maybe he wants to save face and get ahead of it. AZ Hoosier and Home Jersey 2

Hornsby Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I was watching the Aaron Torres podcast and was talking about IU. He said he has made some phone and what he is gathering that is Woodson is ready to move on after the season. I have no idea where he gets is info but I don't buy that Woodson is ready to leave this job.He will claim he left on his own after doing his job. Ghost of Rick Majerus Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I was rereading an article of the potential coaching candidates from our last search when Archie was fired and I forgot how uninspiring it was. Porter Moser was one of the top candidates followed closely by Andy Enfield and Michael Lewis!! No doubt they would have probably been better than Woodson, but definitely not home run hires in my opinion. The point being, the list of potential candidates this time seems unequivocally better. There seems to be several choices that can be long term program changers, even if it drops to the 3rd or 4th choice. They have to get this one right and they should have no shortage of options. Could the stars finally be aligning ? I hope so! lillurk, thebigweave and go iu bb 3

PR nightmare waiting to happen. If you don’t think Dolson and others close to the situation aren’t aware of this, you are mistaken. There’s a part of me that believes Dolson doesn’t mind throwing him to the wolves and catching the backlash and it makes the firing/retirement that much easier and Dolson can just point to the fact that they can’t risk that happening again, thus relieving Woodrow of his duties. Right now, we don’t have a coaching vacancy - which means potential coaching candidates don’t have to answer questions about interest in the IU basketball job. THAT’S your benefit. The list from 2017 (beyond Brad Stevens & Billy Donovan) wasn't awful, granted this is no "short list": Tony Bennett (eventual NCAA Champion) Sean Miller Archie Miller - "If Indiana’s going to go with a young, up-and-coming coach, it’s hard to argue the upside with Miller and he seems destined for a top tier job." AKHoosier Posted February 6 Posted February 6 How great would it be to get a truly program changing, transformational hire? Imagine the buzz around the program with the headline "Hoosiers land Celtics' Stevens with massive 7 year, $70M deal". Lots of great candidates out there compared to 4 years ago. But man, this would be on a different level. kottke, Hollywood Mike Miranda, Hoosierfanyuh and 2 others 5
