Yeah, there's only a few of those and for the most part it hasn't worked out. Davis at UNC is another one in addition to those mentioned by others already. He's done much better than Woodson but some think he's on the hot seat and others think it's just warm and he'll for sure get another year. So he hasn't been terrible but he's also not great and likely won't last too much longer at UNC. If you mean coaches who were former players at any school, then that would be quite a few of the coaches. Yep. How many star players became great coaches I think is a different question with a lot less answers. WayneFleekHoosier, WeeDerkaNaut, BBTB and 1 other 4
cleeter Posted January 30, 2025 Posted January 30, 2025 I am not sure its like having to look at an accident you know you shouldn't but its hard to stop yourself When IU is playing bad, this place is 100% like a car accident. You don’t want to look, but you can’t look away. But with this current season, Mike Woodson and it being a Purdue game, I don’t even know what to call this place tomorrow [emoji23]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk IU Prof, BBTB and bird4par 2 1

No I meant ones who played at the university that became a coach at said school

It seems to be that, in general, the better they are as a player, the worse they are as a coach. The exceptions to this seem to be those who weren't really athletically gifted but had to work extremely hard and really understand the game to become good. Even then they don't always do well. My guess is that those who it comes to more naturally might not have as deep of an understanding and/or don't know how to relay their understanding to those less gifted. Those that had to work hard expect that same dedication from others and fail when they don't get that. Willkie71 and Home Jersey 2

Michigan State boards will tell you the same thing. Because message boards are LOADED with facts and people "in the know" right? My guess is that Izzo keeps a lid on alot of things, unlike IU

I think he’ll be gone soon.
