The “compromise” by Dolson to let this go down this way saved us some good cash on the buyout. Lot of litigation today. Make no mistake about it, this was not Woody’s decision to retire.

Agreed IU needed to lock him down.  I just hope (fingers cross) that CIG is a long term savior as he was his first year.  If he consistently makes bowls (winning records) during his tenure here then well worth it.

So basically you are saying we no longer or anyone else for the matter needs donors/booster for NIL coffers.  Revenue sharing gets funneled into NIL coffers and can be paid directly from the universities? 

See this seems to me to be illegal/NCAA violation of how NIL is suppose to be paid.

Reading about you clowns debating over if dane is a nice guy or a prick is fun and all but not important imo. Firing woodson and saving thos program is absolutely top priority before we get humiliated to many more times!
Just a FYI alot of college players that play at a high level are arrogant pricks! This dude coached with Tom izzo for how long? Mike woodson is a arrogant prick! Alot of head coaches are assholes so if fife is a big ******* then maybe he has what it takes to coach at a high level! Look at the legendary coaches for the most part. We're or are they considered nice guys?
Now back to Firing this dude and trying to salvage what is left of a once proud basketball program that now more resembles north western!

Revenue sharing gets paid directly from the university to the athletes, yes. I would count this as a separate payment than NIL but in the end the combinrd amount is what will go to the athletes. Not using one source would be a mistake so both revenue sharing and NIL will be used.

Revenue sharing has a cap. Next year it is $20.5M per university to be split among all sports and athletes as the universities see fit.

That’s not exactly true. IPFW had just went D1 and were terrible. He helped build them up, they joined a conference and he had two winning seasons before he left. Incredibly tough job and I think I read he was barely making 6 figures. I’m sure his assistants made nothing.  
 

He’s done nothing since that makes me want him at IU, but his stint at Fort Wayne was at least respectable.

He did OK.  He certainly didn’t make any friends there.

No NIL is still going to be a differentiator.  Revenue sharing will come from the University agreements with the conference/Tv deals.  Athletes will still have the right to go out and sign "endorsement deals" via NIL.   So a dude is going to collect is revenue share and then his NIL money.

Both sons are UF grads. Todd Golden has that team playing great fun to watch basketball, after UGA, thank God, "stole" Mike White from them. But I think this may end poorly for him. He is currently under a title 9 investigation and I think their are plenty of receipts to prove he is a weirdo.

According to the student-run newspaper, the claims include unwanted sexual advances on Instagram, requesting sexual favors and sending photos and videos of his genitalia. The newspaper based its report on a Title IX complaint filed against Golden on Sept. 27.

 

 

“What’s personally getting me through this right now?” Golden said. “Respecting the situation, my family, my team, my coaching staff. We’re just continuing to attack it like we normally would every day.”

Asked what he would say to female fans, Golden requested patience.

“Obviously, in this situation, due process and to continue to support guys, and I just would hope that they would allow the process to take place and see where it ends up,” he said.

On more than one occasion, the paper said, Golden allegedly took photos of women walking or driving and sent those pictures to the subjects involved. Alleged stalking incidents also included Golden, a married father of two young boys, showing up to locations where he knew the women would be.
