I look at it this way...Purdue's scrubs are better coached than our scrubs.

The “compromise” by Dolson to let this go down this way saved us some good cash on the buyout. Lot of litigation today. Make no mistake about it, this was not Woody’s decision to retire.

If he doesn't, it won't be because the football got blown out by IU.  Last year he didn't pull his starters at Purdue until the last thirty seconds and they were up 20.

You shake hands at the end of the game. Period. It's the right thing to do.

I agree. More generally though, I like Pitino’s suggestion of doing the handshake before the game. Feels less potential to get messy

After Goode stopped him the last game he may need to change up tactics. The tried and true late game technical may be invoked.

The Coach ThinSkin may make an even earlier exit if the student section razzing gives him too many bad feels.

I don't disagree, but Woodson has never said anything against the post game handshakes.  He was nothing more than a confused old man caught up in the loss.

And if someone has to stop grandpa from wandering to the locker room to do the normal postgame routine, then DD is nuts for being mad at that player.

Generally agree. Someone else said it on here but I think it’s true… to me he just looked like a guy tucking tail trying to get out of there as quickly as he could. Say whatever you will about the guy, it cannot be fun for anybody to be boo’d by 17,000 of your own fans.

Nah, it’s gonna be a beating more likely than not, but I’ll be pretty shocked if Painter has Smith or TKR on the floor with 3 mins left in a 25pt game. One of those guys rolls an ankle or breaks a finger and their season goes sideways. Dude’s not risking his season to avenge the memory of Ryan Walters.

Rice, Sisley, the Bosnian kid, Reneau, Carlyle and Cupps(if he doesn't transfer). That gives you a solid start and then go find a few studs.
I would not want any of those guys except maybe cupps. It's time to start fresh.

Laughing out loud at the thought of Painter avenging the football team. I love me some fanfic. But the thought of Indiana Football beating Purdue so badly that that thought has even occurred to people has me out of my chair.

No saying it changes his game time coaching so much, but I bet the players were reminded of football beat down a few times this week to get them even more frothed up than usual for an IU/PU matchup.

Do I think he is a great player. No. But he plays hard and could play a limited role of the bench. The rest of those guys were overpaid by Woodson and have been coached by him all year. At least cupps is out and not being ruined this year. He also won't cost 750k

Man, could we just get one solid leak to confirm the light at the end of the tunnel? I am a first time season ticket holder and I was exuberant at the fact that I would be able to experience my first Purdon't game in person. Now I find myself questioning even going to the UCLA game with my wife for Valentines, because my son has to shoot at an archery tournament at 8am the next morning, is it worth it to barely get any sleep with the 1.5 hr trip home after the game and the 1.5 hr trip to the archery tournament. I have missed 4 home games this season, couldn't make it do to work (2 times) and a family events for the other 2. This is the first year, I officially don't have hope that the team can turn things around.

I agree with your last sentence 100% … It would be very interesting to see this same exact roster with a different coach that moved last offseason. Dusty May of course comes to mind but so do Kelsey and Pope. I think all would do much better with this roster than Woody. For May and Kelsey, it’s interesting because this roster probably has a good bit more talent than their current ones. Basketball wise, Woodson manages to bring out the worst in everyone around him, it seems.
