This team can be better (duh!). If we stick with Woody we're toast. Interesting the donors that probably backed Woody after last season now want a change. Our donors are idiots, they need to stop meddling because they have no idea what they're doing. Just send the checks and shut up. I still think we get an interim not on staff, like Crean or Fife! I don't think SD will f*ck up this next hire... I agree, if Dolson fires Woodson today and places an interim coach in his place tomorrow, it would be clear to the interim that he is there to finish the season and nothing more. That is why I think Crean is the perfect guy. He wants to get back into coaching and this would be a great audition for him for other schools. He can take a good roster that was poorly coached and try to get them to win and make the tournament. To me, it is a win-win for both sides. Fife would be the other guy. Wouldn’t that be a kick in the nads to Woodson, hiring a guy to replace him that he fired and Fife wins with this team, lol Kentuckysucks 1

If nothing else the chorus from the doofuses in the media would be loud for IU to rehire their friend. There would be a hundred podcasts and articles about how we aren’t a top job anymore and his ceiling of S16s is about all we can expect, so it’s a bargain we should jump on. Some of the younger fans might even believe it. That would be a circus I would think even this administration is competent enough to shy away from. Silat Player and thebigweave 2
Popular Post Artie86 Posted January 27, 2025 Popular Post Posted January 27, 2025 ....ohhh to know the dynamics of that locker room after the game! Who knows how many players are behind Woodson or not. There could even be some "behind the scenes" mutiny, or the complete opposite. One thing for certain,....the "OPTICS" have shown how discombobulated this team is from the coaching to the players. Like I posted yesterday, the video of Goode redirecting both Coach Ya and Woodson is extremely damning for them and a direct reflection of the current disconnect of a coaching staff. When you have a player going out of his way to "save face" for his coaches shows the love and respect he has for the game and this entire team. The "optics" show Woodson has met his match and looked as though he was "tapping out"!!!...... Pagoda, IUrocker, thebigweave and 6 others 9

I agree with your post on the odd Goode/coach/handshake thing. But the players do not seem to be on the same page. Goode, Leal, Galloway and Reneau were openly sniping at each other on the court over missed assignments. Multiple times. Nobody was on the same page for the last two possessions. This team is openly a wreck. Most of that is coaching but it looks like the players are at it among themselves. I’m sure some stories will leak out eventually. This is the worst I think I’ve seen it since the Dakich season or maybe Davis’s worst stretch. thebigweave, SlammySammy and Stuhoo 3

KNOBYDOX Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 Here is a big IF. assuming Woodson and Buckner are partners in real estate in Bloomington and Buckner knows he has medical issues, but uses his influence to keep the millions rolling in for more investment Opportunities .would be curious to know. how their contracts are worded as partners. Scotty R Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 I don't ever remember an interim coach being brought in from the outside after the HC being fired mid season. I just don't see that happening and it isn't like you can come in and I still a new offense or defense this late into the season. If they do eventually fire Woodson mid season the interim will be one of the current assistant coaches. thebigweave, Hoosier987, Ryno6284 and 1 other 4

dwtaylor1055 Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 the fact that Goode had to tell CMW to turn around and go shake hands is downright embarrassing. CMW set us up for failure with that timeout, personal on the court and had no freaking clue who to sub in and out before an atrocious inbounds play MikeRoberts 1

He helped bring the program back from the depths and worked his tail off to do so. He knows what it takes. Of course, there is the argument that Woodson should know how to do this since he learned from one of the best, but still.... Also, no one would ever expect Hulls to keep the job regardless of the level of success he achieves with the team. Eagle’s Rug 1

Stuhoo Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 If we ever went to an interim coach, by far the most likely choice would be Kenya Hunter. The second most likely would be Yasir, and the third most likely would be Walsh.
