The “compromise” by Dolson to let this go down this way saved us some good cash on the buyout. Lot of litigation today. Make no mistake about it, this was not Woody’s decision to retire.

This may be the ultimate captain obvious statement but that second half was so p!ss poor, if it hasn’t already happened, I get the sense Woody will have lost the locker room with another blow out tomorrow. It’s early enough that teams can still get back on track but this one won’t to a meaningful degree IMO. The effort and body language of these kids today make me really doubt it. We will probably get some great individual performances along the way though.

Woodson being gone does, however, compute.

It’s just a proposal!  I thought he was unjustly fired by Woodson!  Also, I was trying to think of a way to get rid of MW now.  Maybe we could hire Crean as interim and retain him as an offensive coordinator!  Just trying to think outside the box because we have nobody on the current bench I would trust or let them become interim coach, would you?

Nope. I wouldn’t trust anyone on the bench. Cheaney maybe? Wake up the sleepy guy and ask him if he wants to coach (at least he would probably be too tired to initiate mass substitutions)?  Maybe Newton since he can’t play? Let the trainers take turns running the team?  Gallo and Cupps dads as co-coaches? Perhaps we could have promos in which one of the random seats in Assembly Hall has a “you are the coach of the day” envelope? Maybe the Menendaz brothers could coach remotely? 
Basically….we are f’d.

Let me start by saying I love Mike Woodson - as a player. Guy is an all time Hoosier legend on the court.

Stating that makes it all the harder to say these words, but they MUST be said: Mike Woodson needs to be relieved of his coaching duties at Indiana University.

We could talk about all the shortcomings, but those have been bandied about ad nauseam throughout this thread. But if anything can ever convince a naysayer who still supports Woody to finally admit that he needs to go, it’s this:

Louisville - after leading 37-29 at halftime - out-scored Indiana 41-11 to lead 78-40 with 7:08 left in the game. That 38 point margin was the largest lead of the game for the Cardinals.

And they achieved that without shooting a SINGLE free throw. None. In fact, UofL didn’t attempt a charity toss until 3:35 remained in the game.

Again, THEY GOT A THIRTY EIGHT POINT LEAD WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM THE LINE! All of us who watched the game saw the uninspired effort, but until you see that statistic does it truly sink in just how truly pathetic the effort was.

Even IF Woodson had a system that was conducive to winning (he doesn’t), there is nothing from the body of work that is the Mike Woodson era to make you believe he will be able to get this team to reverse course and play hard - as in playing focused and with purpose.

Scott Dolson, please fire Mike Woodson. End this misery for everyone.

IMO, Stevens NO. It's been too long, and doubt that he's interested.

There was talk last year of Pearl's interest... or he was playing/stroking us... doubt there's any "there" there at this point

And there may be an announcement that Woodson is "retiring" at the end of the season, but I truly (and sadly) doubt that any meaningful thing will happen until IU misses the tournament next March..
