Gallo and Leal are huge. Not for their play as much as culture and leadership. This allows you to bring in 5/6 transfers and have success.

Took Galloway a bit to come into that role this year and had some things that have irritated him (not Woody) He is growing.

we wouldn’t know about Malik and MM for a bit. I would even suspect both to declare and workout but return.

If Gallo and Leal are leaders then i'm Martha the Mop Lady's secret lover. Your bar for leadership is at a nauseating level. Galloway came to IU as a good off the bench player and has grown into a better off the bench player

I still need the receipts. You said “lots and lots of examples” of teams with 5+ transfers in one year that are “killing it”. One example is not “lots and lots”, and I don’t think I would qualify Texas Tech as “killing it”.

Yay we can be the next Texas Tech. I think I got rid off all my old TT gear.

I’m not optimistic about it but I hope it’s a “smokescreen.”

We need to get back to actual “shooting,” seemingly a lost art under Woodson Miller and continued by Woodson.

Bloomington is the Lubbock of south central Indiana—as they say.

Yep and we will have our guys who stick like that too.

I am happy to type another novel on the nuance of this but not sure that is welcomed. I think some are misunderstanding plan now, vs plan in 2025, etc.

This should be the plan no matter who the coach is too. If we have donors willing to give lots of excess funds directly that we can now use directly as well, game on. Spend that on portal and not freshman (majority of it)

Right. Because who wants a five star freshman who is a sniper at a critical position of need……oh wait!……

It would so sum up the complete failure of IU to gift OSU Dusty, just so we can have one more bad to mediocre year of Woodson.

There's something cosmic about Knight growing up in Ohio and attending OSU and being a legend at IU and have the reverse for Dusty.

Dusty is no sure thing, no one is; but I'd rather him roam the IU sidelines instead of OSU's.

If we're going to ignore the rules on pay for play, not care about the players academic careers, and really not care about them as people and send them packing as soon as they aren't good enough, can we just hire Kelvin Sampson back? Seems like Mike Woodson is Kelvin Sampson but much worse at coaching basketball.

The "we can be successful getting loads of players from the portal" crowd seem to be forgetting a massive detail. WOODSON IS STILL THE COACH. Great transfer portal players don't mzke up for poor coaching, they just don't. Unless Woody is willing to implement a more modern system you can forget about it. He's just going to look worse taking better talent and still missing the tourney

If Woody intends to go full portal, I'll have a lot of free time during AAU season and next winter during HS ball season.  I'll have to concentrate all my new found free time to more closely following our women's team targets.

I went to the new castle regional yesterday and it was a lightbulb moment for me. That was one of my favorite basketball experiences ever. So much fun just showing up to an awesome venue and watching high level ball without a dog in the fight. The tickets were $10/each, to boot! I’m going to save so much money!  Following IU is a black hole of stress and frustration. A total sunken cost with ZERO ROI.

They’re not committed to winning. They’re committed to believing they can win with IU people. Big difference. I’m finally fully convinced that we will never see Indiana compete for titles ever again.

I’m looking forward to following high school basketball much more closely.

Dusty to OSU will be the final nail in the coffin of my fandom.

Agreed. I know a lot of people threaten this, but I’m all the way out if we run it back with Woodson and Dusty goes to OSU. I’ve been a faithful fan and hardly missed a game since I was 7 or 8. I’m 32 now. Not to be dramatic, but why would I continue to help and support a program that refuses to help itself?

I think we will find out after the meeting what the conditions Woodson will have to meet to keep his job for next season.

Do you mean after next season. Seems like he’s already locked in for next season. Dolson doesn’t have enough pull.
