How about some guards take advantage of some slower guards from Purdue instead of expecting TJD, I mean Ware, of carrying you against a 7’3” All-American? Just irks me, Edey is a problem, but take advantage of Smith and Loyer. Woodson’s priorities seem so out of sync for today’s cbb

You have to have the guards to be able to do that. Galloway plays admirably, and sometimes overachieves, but he’s nowhere near good enough to be the lead guard on a team expected to make the tournament.

And Eddy led teams have lost to a 13 seed and a 16 seed (lol). Dump everything in and not defend good guards is not a recipe for success in March. Yes, Edey is the best of their lumbering giants but it doesn’t change their fundamental flaw.

um St. Petey's was a 15 seed

What did he develop in Edey? “Stand here in this box, refs won’t call that archaic 3-second violation. Oh, yeah, you can push off and double dribble and you can take about 5 or 6 steps any time you want” …

He was in the lane more than 3 seconds at least 6 times and there was one time I counted 7 seconds twice.  He also lowers his left shoulder into the defender to clear space!  That used to be a foul, I guess it is not anymore

That 04 team had at least a young DJ White who you knew was going to have a superb career.

Both teams very similar. A bunch of low IQ, individual talent with no comprehension of team ball. Terrible coaching with little to no heart or effort.

Edey was ranked 436 best player in the nation coming out of HS. Painter has developed him into the best player in college bball for 2 consecutive years. I'd say that is a sign of a good coach. Not to mention the countless other players he has developed over the past decade. Who would you rather have as your HC, Painter or Woody? I think the answer is pretty obvious.

You can't fkg put your best players on the bench for extended minutes, fouls or no fouls.  First rule of getting out of a hole -- stop fkg digging.

agree with Golfman here. KY, I think we’d all agree Painter’s a better CBB coach? My point was that in 5 tries, I think Woody has clearly out-coached Painter 4 times, and I’m pretty confident the difference tonight was not about who had a better coach on the bench. Anyway, gonna enjoy my night and not spend much more time here for awhile (football season??), peace all

So how many are finally tired of the XJ show?  Had another flagrant foul, 0-5 from the field, 2 turnovers and his +/- was -20.  He sucks and needs to go away!  I am tired of watching him play, I would rather sit and watch paint dry.

By his +/- statistic, if he didn’t play we would have lost by 3, lol

Unless that was tongue in cheek, you clearly have a pretty tenuous grasp on a single player’s effect on the +/-

I don’t know how to find +/- stats.  My eyes told me Cupps was pretty good and X was pretty bad.  I know your the stat guy Ngw7183?
It's a worthless stat. Too many variables to make it reliable.

This is trash calling out your own guys.  It’s always someone else’s fault with CMW.

I feel like I’m in my time machine and listening to a Tom Crean press conference. Remember him doing this a lot when his back was against the wall.

Correct me if I’m wrong (because I don’t think I saw anything like it) but I was expecting us to use Ware more strategically and effectively against Edey.

I guess I assumed that it might’ve been smart to have Ware outside more to either shoot or dump it down for cuts to the basket.

He was outside, but all he was doing was setting screens and handing the ball off.

What the heck was our offensive game plan? I’m sure the fouls had an effect, but I don’t think I could discern a noticeable plan (again).

Seem logical to me to draw Edey away from the basket, but I do think our game plan was to establish our one true mismatch and get Mgbako established.  That could of worked but his 2 fouls derailed that
