WayneFleekHoosier Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 IDK who but I hope the program makes a blueblood backing similar to what Kansas, Kentucky, Duke and others have done lately. Without the backing and support we aren't likely to find success besides lightning in a bottle. mamasa, FWHoosier84 and GoIU8 3 Quote

I believe he interviewed last summer or the summer before but Allen thought he cussed too much. Lebowski Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 If it were up to me, I'd be looking at a "Kalen DeBoer" type model. Maybe look into successful head coaches in the FCS or lower levels. Matt Entz, Glenn Caruso, and Brent Vigen come to mind first and foremost. Maybe Drew Cronic. I'm sure there are plenty of others to look into. In the grand scheme of things, it's a pretty big pool to choose from. Regardless, IUFB will most likely be a stepping stone for any coach that is successful here. So for me, hiring a coach that has left a nice foundation of success in past jobs would be a big part of the hiring process. Someone like Craig Bohl? Quote

He had a legal victory last week clearing him of negligence. He would bring his son as the OC and he is a proven winner. Briles does not have many opportunities, so he wouldn’t break the bank. Just win baby. We should just bring in Urban Myer if we are going to bring someone in with baggage Hoosierfan1901 and MemphisHoosier 2 Quote
Josh Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 I love Antwaan the man, but putting him in a position to fail and then having a messy split would be disastrous. I'd rather do that with Trent Green Chris007, thebigweave and Home Jersey 3 Quote

IU_FanClub Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 While I think Randel El would be cool, it feels like something that could turn into a total disaster also. Seems like a really high ceiling low floor type of situation. That being said if we hired him I would be behind him 100% MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

kreigh8 Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Do 17 and 18 year old recruits know or remember who Randel-El or Trent Green is? Our alumni base isn't exactly the deepest pool of players. Not sure we should limit the hire to an alumni. Randel-El would be sweet as a fan in my 30s, but not sure he has the same type of allure with the people who are needed to be allured like a Coach Prime OGIUAndy 1 Quote

Point is they aren't likely to remember the careers of any coaching candidate aside from highlight reels and what not.Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk Quote
