Something definitely has to change. Look how things have changed for the good with IU BB since Miller was fired and Woodson took over. IU can’t afford to continually loose games with way things are going now. There are too many factors going against this IU program with each loss. We are most likely going to loose some of our best players to the portal next season if we end up in a loosing season. It just needs to happen and money needs to be found.

They need to bring someone in who will tighten things up.

The national spotlight of the covid season broke him. It wasn’t always like this.

Eh, let’s be honest, we didn’t realize it then, but he’s always been pretty soft. It’s just amplified now. But another way to say what you’re saying is that he just can’t handle this responsibility.

Yes … LEO … instead of getting the job done. Apologies to Lennon and McCartney, “Love is NOT all you need”.

But, we've had this problem for decades.  While Bob Knight was winning, the IU football program struggled to win six games every year as we kept swapping out coaches every four years until Bill Mallory showed up, and athletics was like "well... it'd be nice if we could find someone who could win... but we'll always have the Rose Bowl", and bear in mind that college football, while big, wasn't the corporate leviathan it is today.  When our college basketball program was going through its down period here in the 2000s as coach after coach failed, we could have tried to invest some additional funding into the football program as an insurance policy in the event basketball ever slipped back into the single digit win seasons, but besides the obligatory stadium upgrades as a result of the Big Ten Network (not to mention Michael McRobbie's general hatred of sports in general), we just chose not to.

This university always talks in riddles about their non-existent support for football.  It's like, they don't want to support it, but they don't want to be public about it, either, knowing that saying it will cause them to become another UConn.

Always kind of wondered what LEO means other than love every one.  (It has really worked well for T.A.financially).  How much does it really mean???  Enough for a refund or at least a partial refund for job performance???LOL.

Sidenote:  I get Bob Knight earned most of his money in a large variety of ways…..However, Bob Knight supposedly declined Texas Tech salary one year for poor job performance.
At IU Knight salary was in the below or around a couple hundred thousand dollars per year. (times have changed)

Is that true LEO???

The defense seems to love letting other teams score, does that count?

A few weeks ago, I was convinced CTA would hang around at least one more year because of the ridiculous buyout.

Now, I'm convinced that unless we somehow finish 5-0, he will be gone. Dolson will have to figure a way to get it done. IMO, this situation is just not sustainable and cannot survive another season.

The replies here are interesting. I didn’t realize it, but apparently 20 million bucks is chump change that everyone’s got in their sofa cushions.

I heard the stadium was pretty empty yesterday for a homecoming game. Indiana likely isn’t winning another game this season.

If Dolson can’t buy him out or if Tom doesn’t walk, the season ticket buyers will be down to its lowest in history. I mean they were selling season tickets for like $70 bucks at Costco before the season started this year!

Nonetheless, I think this is Tom’s last dance. He’s walking away or Dolson will pull the plug.

At this point, Dolson is pretty much having his hand forced. When the media starts putting out stories that the coach needs to be fired while the team is getting blown out week after week, how can he credibly justify keeping Allen while also pretending IU cares about football? It just isn't possible. If Allen stays, the stories will be about how IU is fine having a terrible football program which would further sink the program.

But then Dolson will have an excuse to not spend money on a coaching search and just promote an assistant coach to head coach on the cheap. The IU way. Which bad assistant coach will be IU's next bad head coach?

Depends on the time. It wasn’t terrible in the first half but by the third quarter it was pretty sad.

In 24 months we went from Penix as starter with a solid backup in Tuttle and the highest rated QB recruit in program history also on the roster, to endless shuffling of RS freshman QB's and an option QB on deck without having recruited to that system.  That is next level mismanagement of your most premium position.

Nickel back, dime back, quarter back...same thing
