Kenny Payne just turned down a head coaching position at DePaul the other day. I doubt he'll leave the NBA to become an assistant coach if he didn't want to become a head coach.

Enh I mean I doubt he’s coming but other than money, “assistant at IU” is better than “HC at DePaul” in every way in 2021

If nonrecruiting, guessing it’s won’t count as a full assistant. Wondering if it could be a DOBO and/or scouting position. Just a way to get Woodson another trusted advisor on campus

With Matta and now maybe Brown, it’s starting to look like Alabama football, just start making up non coaching positions to get as many experienced guys on campus
