Does he give his buddy, Dusty, a heads up before the announcement to allow him to use the leverage before it is lost? Yes. But if Dusty continues to perform, the results and his merit in the job will take care of the leverage. Some other big jobs will open eventually too … UNC, MSU, etc. thebigweave, Artie86 and DChoosier 3
Pagoda Posted February 10 Posted February 10 1 hour ago, Home Jersey said: An analogy, IMO... Picking out a great coach from the lower ranks is a lot like betting on a penny stock. For the situation IU is in, we're looking for a blue chip guy to come in and pay dividends right away. There could be higher upside to buying in early, but we need stability and good yield right away. ...In a different cycle I'd love taking a flyer on McCollum. Don't think it's in the cards this time around though. Makes sense. And on this analogy, regardless of who we get, I want Scott digging deep so we trade on as much insider info as possible. Scotty R Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I wonder if we get a coach like Williams or any other SEC would they be able to convince those type of athletes to come play in the big ten. It seems like there are talk out there that the top recruits don't want to play in the big ten. cybergates 1

May has already told Michigan that he isn't interested in contract talk until season end, could that change? sure, but right now nothing is in the works for may contract wise. With that being said, brad is still the guy. He is the guy until he's not by his doing. Happy search season everyone! I know you didnt say this but if Brad is the guy, what makes people say that we "got our guy"? GP711 1

First the announcement that Woodson would not return on the same day of the nba trade deadline. Announcing the position would be open makes other schools who could positionally worry about losing their coach, start to talk contract extension. Which leads me to believe that Scott knew that wouldn't be an issue because he's in the NBA. With the Celtics being sold if brad was ever going to leave (excluding retirement) it would be now. There are some other minor details but the timing has me really interested. thebigweave, Iufan93, Napleshoosier and 3 others 6

Given that players were willing to come play in Mike Woodson’s system of all things, I think we could get players to play on the moon for enough NIL.

True story, in the late 90s/early 2000s my middle school in northern NJ had a JV basketball coach with a VERY Italian name (think Vincenzo Pagliuca or Michelangelo Forgione lol) and he would wear an all white suit to his games multiple times every season lol. His teams were not good but every year he'd give the parents a bottle of wine from his "family vineyard" each season so at least he was winning in some way while cosplaying as Pitino ALASKA HOOSIER, Hoosier DaDa and OKHOOSIER 1 2

There's so much to digest here. First, "announcing I'm 100% classy?" While "hard to beat," that is awkward. And foremost? You are apparently hanging out on your driveway wearing nothing but a tie and a silky jumper is just plain disturbing. ALASKA HOOSIER, Chris007, Hoosier DaDa and 3 others 1 5

I happen to have lucked into some friendships of people in particular places. My intel would be useless if those people left. I share what i hear, if i cant confirm it i don't share it without stating so. Happy to be here! IU has reached out to Beard as of last week. I am not buying the stevens talk. I think IU will try but it is a pipedream. Although we were at the game Saturday, sitting in our suite eating and dolson and Cindy simon skodjt were talking Stevens. It was hard to hear exactly but his name was definitely the topic of conversation. OGIUAndy, Home Jersey, Stuhoo and 10 others 10 2 1
