And for the record, everyone, write off Beard. Won’t happen. Move on. You can continue to argue here but there will be names much better in the pool to be considered. Carry on.

He’s an all-time great. And people used to try to sell us on the idea that Woody was one of those guys who was gonna die on the sidelines and you knew he wasn’t. Pitino straight up is. He will never stop.

I have a theory. Insider’s insiders get wind of Scott Dolson having his guy. Insiders from previous years assume it’s Stevens for obvious reasons, but in reality it’s Dusty May.  Not a bad constellation prize, but makes more sense if you look at Brad’s current job title.

No, not really.. if we are passing on Beard BEFORE his arrest? lol like what does that even mean?

It means we don't want another Kevin Wilson situation - drinks way, way too much, to the point where problems stemming from the drinking ensue.

Also notable - multiple people with a position of knowledge in Bloomington, including but not limited to posters that are well -known to have that knowledge, have stated that Beard won't be considered.

For me? It has now officially become a waste of breath because Beard to IU is pretty much a zero % chance of happening.

Direct talks with May haven't started so this theory is incorrect.

The UConn fanbase loves going on about how they're "psychos" "sickos" etc. because they're taking on the personality of Dan Hurley. The only person who is undoubtedly a bigger psycho than Hurley is Pitino. The guy is in his 70s and talks about how losing makes him want to die and if you told him before the season he'd be 12-1 in the Big East his first reaction would be "how the f*** did we lose that one game?!" ... You are right, he will never stop. He will coach til he drops. Absolute legend in the basketball world.

That is how we roll here on BTB. Have you done anything to make IUBB better today?

...why, yes I have! I have decided to wear IU apparel to school again to support our fine university! lol

I think most would probably agree that all else being equal, Kelvin Sampson is a better coach than John Beilein. But I also think most would agree that, in hindsight, IU would have been better off hiring Beilein than Sampson. And that's because all else is never equal, and it can never just be about coaching strength. You always have to weigh that against the other factors.

Probably. But we also would’ve been better off if IU had taken the UNC approach to NCAA allegations. Program just can’t get out of its own way, both then and now.

Our last hire - a mediocre old NBA coach from Indiana - didn't work.

But what if Dolson is doubling down and chasing an even older NBA coach from Indiana who is actually successful?? Is Greg Popovich's health issue this year really a smokescreen so he can negotiate the Indiana job?

Our chance with Pitino was over 20 years ago when the boosters had him lined up, but the Administration hired Mike Davis to give RMK the finger by hiring his former assistant.  PItino went to UL and the rest is history.

My grandmother would not like that hire she hated Huggins and I could never quite figure out why and never bothered to ask.
