Can’t claim that. Was referring to The General, Coach Knight. Meant absolutely no disrespect to my military brothers and sisters here, assuming there are plenty. Thought referencing “my general” and that famous quote of his would land, but I guess I should’ve said “The General.” Will second what Cubbie said though, a huge THANK YOU and sincere gratitude to our service members. We all thank you for fighting for this great nation and our freedom.

The new Utah coach says he plans on finishing the season with the Mavs before going to Utah.  That's in mid April.  Seems like a terrible decision when the portal opens March 24th.  I think I'd want a refund if I was Utah.

At first cignetti said he was going to coach his upcoming bowl game and that quickly changed after it was announced lol. I expect the same to happen here

Next coach who has not been mentioned… Avery Johnson!

-Available immediately, so checks that box.

-Coaching experience in a major college conference, although with lackluster results. Did go to one NCAA tournament, so checks that box.

-Was a better NBA coach, with 3 seasons of 50+ wins, so can relate to recruits what it takes to get to the league. Checks that box.

-Would make Crean look like he was in quicksand on the sidelines. So there’s that.

-And most importantly, was known as “The Little General “ as a player. That’s almost destiny, would bring the program full circle, and harken it back to its glory days!

Only acceptable if they play a clip of him saying "pecan roll" every time we execute a pick and roll on offense.

Also, this post made me even more excited for March Madness as it's typically the only I get hear Avery call a game - which is always fantastic.

What would the team do without him? Doesn't want to give up on a (checks standings) last place season?

Here's some trivia for you: John Tyler was the 10th President, born in 1790. He has 2 grandsons that are still living! He had children late in life and so did his son. Remarkable.

What does this have to do with IU's coaching search? You know what John Tyler did not have? A beard.....make of that what you will.
