They have a clear picture. There is a folder of pictures of Beard from the last search. I’ve been told about it more than once.

I sent you a DM a week or 2 ago about a group of donors that were saying Beard is a legitimate candidate.  I wonder if Rabby is getting it from these donors.  I just can’t see Dolson hiring Beard.  My son is a very involved student at IU, and he thinks the resulting protests would make Tennessee’s Greg Schiano fiasco look like baby crap in comparison.

I've always thought they (HH and Rabby) were full of **** and nothing they said made me really fell like they know anything, including the Facial Hair bomb at the end. They even said at the beginning they're not hearing anything except through multiple people removed from Dolson's circle.

In the off chance they're right and he actually gets hired? Well, the last 8 years has made it easier than ever in my life to completely give up on IU basketball.

They are vetting backup options, background checks on assistant coaches, doing press conference work and things like that. But if we’re still interviewing than we’re in trouble.

I am pretty sure they are and that’s what I meant with my initial list discussion.  Not the committee.  I have zero clue on Steven’s one way or another, or any actual names on that list beyond Beard.  But as much as I saw it from close to a decade with unique window, I know the school will put stuff out on boards to control a narrative if they don’t like what’s out there.  So I don’t know if that’s them putting up a smokescreen to temper expectations or not.  At some point it will be obvious when they start flying places.

My takeaway from the spaces...I just don't think anyone knows and honestly that is how it SHOULD be. We are all eager to hear things but I honestly don't think too many leaks is good. Imagine you are wanting to get one of the better jobs in your profession. You likely wouldn't want your employer to know about it. Rabjohns did prove a point. He compared how Dolson handled the 2021 basketball hire (remember the whole Matta/Holtmann/Moser leaks) vs. the Cignetti hire (his name kind of came out of nowhere 24 hours before).

I could very well be wrong on this opinion...Indiana Basketball is going through the worst stretch in program history...1 winning season in the Big Ten in the last 9 years. I don't think the hire is going to be a Brad Brownell or Ben McCollum type. I just don't. I think it's a proven guy.

I'm also not qualified to talk about the whole stuff with Chris Beard. I get both sides of it. I'll say this: I think he is the guy if Stevens, May, Drew, Otzelberger, etc. all say no. Rabby said this and I 100% agree. Indiana has to start winning. I like the Hysterics/Rabby more than most of you. They've been right and they've been wrong before. I think they were just sharing what they hear.

Hey @Chris007, after that disappointing spaces, the board needs a cleanser. Are you ready to share your context about Brad and ND? ;)

I don’t have anything to share about that. I woke up this morning hearing he was at the game. It added context to what a few of us on here have heard since Sunday. My only thing is he’s had 30 games to go to and he’s been to one in Boston before last night.

Oh I see what you’re saying. That’s definitely possible.

Listened to the largest Michigan podcast today. They are starting to turn a bit concerning their team and Dusty. They don’t think they will win another game this year. Lose this weekend and 1 and done in both the BTT and NCAA’s

What a shame. If he stays at UM I hope he fails since I root against every other B1G team.

Yes they do. The search firm came up with a list. That doesn’t mean that’s who Scott is talking to.

The search firm consisting of Josh Pastner, Tom Crean, Seth Greenberg, and Mark Turgeon recommended Josh Pastner, Tom Crean, Seth Greenberg, and Mark Turgeon as top candidates for the open IU head coaching position.
