Ever watch Force 10 From Navarone?

Yes.  Quite the drama for a war flick.

Studied groundwater flow and water engineering way back in a previous life.  It is somewhat unusual for a dam to crack like the picture posted earlier.  More typical is that water saturation and or flowage would make the base unstable.  Think quicksand.  That or erosion though piping where animals burrowed, or tree roots rotted.  Bigger dams are generally attached to bedrock if available.  Otherwise a long series of steel sheet pile is driven way beyond the structure to cut off any possible threat to seepage.

Just like in Force 10...a little can become a lot.  That was cool.

I always think about nuclear power plants that are sited near the Cascades in Oregon.  What ever happened to Mount St. Helen?   Or the nuclear plant that was sited in Japan in an area that can be flooded.   Come on now.

Dayton has a history of some huge earthen dams for stormwater control.  The chief engineer from Dayton's Miami Conservancy District became the first chief engineer of the TVA.

I got a job offer as a Civil Engineer for the Army Corp of Engineers.  Turned them down.  Their HQ is in Mobile Alabama.  My wife said no way, Jose.

I tossed a coin and lost.  Turned the job down.  Neutered at an early age.  Starting a Go Fund Me page for sad sacks. I introduce her as my first wife.  Still do....still is after 47 years.

My list of coach prospects:  Not Woodson; not Archie; not DD; maybe Cig's twin brother...a winner.

Has anyone listed various reasons as to why Drew would consider Indiana? We had this discussion after Tom Crean and Archie and now we’re back to Drew as a candidate.

I understand he’s from Indiana, yes. But he’s been in Waco since 2003. Yes you read that correctly, 2003. Champions in 2020, he has things rolling over in the Big 12.

The only thing I could see with Drew is that with the new revenue sharing that he teams in the big 12 will be at a disadvantage. With the Big 10 and the SEC getting more revenue than the other conferences I could see coaches in the other league thinking they are at a disadvantage.

Someone walk me through the logic of flying into McCordsville to meet with IU. (Also, Bedford is not the regional airport closest to Brad’s house.)

Because McCordsville is only about ,8 miles from my house and they want my approval

Didn't 1B just sign a 1 yr extension? Or has 1B been 86ed and 2A is now 1B?

And who the hell was 2A?

Dusty was the original 1B but with the extension, I haven't heard his name mentioned. If Dolson is working with him it's super quiet.
