Yeah there are some non-Stevens guys who might require that. I like Oats too, if Bill Self wants to move on (why? And also I’m a little worried he’s losing his fastball), etc. But of the candidates on anyone’s hot board, one guy is gonna require that bill

ap2345 has been clear he thinks it’s Stevens or May, but Yeagley has said no such thing to my knowledge.

Now he may jump in and 100% clear this up, but until then “Dolson’s guy” is a mystery to me.

He has made it very clear that Stevens is Dolson’s guy and that we’re getting him. 2021 and again now

I know people call us crazy but KU fans on the internet are getting antsy with bill since they’ve just been good the last three years instead of best team in the country

Yep, and if anything their luck/reputation/poll status has outpaced their actual quality lately. That’s why as much as I think he’d be an upgrade, there are many other options I’d explore beforehand.

I don't think so either, but 9.2 for 10 years would get anyone in college, unless they just really love where they're at, and even then they'd probably take it.

I think the only other guy for whom a contract like that would be necessary and in play would be Pearl.

As someone living in Omaha I’m probably Greg McDermotts biggest fan on this board. Elite coaching job this year having them first in the big east after losing pop isaacs. Made it to at least the sweet 16 in 3 out of the last 4 years. They run some beautiful stuff. Creighton NIL is nothing special compared to the rest of big east but he knows how to build a team that fits.

Pearl would be a great hire, but IU isn’t giving that to Bruce Pearl and have to make his son coach in waiting.

The search firm will be able to do more than just help “search” the AD will be the guy that does his own search. They will do the background checks, start work on the contracts, be able to do more background checks door contacts while trying to iron out details without having people watching their every move, and so much more. It’s dotting I’s and crossing T’s of things that have to happen behind the scenes where the AD can keep things quiet until it’s time to tell everyone.
