WayneFleekHoosier Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Beard vs May is tough. Dolson and May are very close. I think that’s why it’s gonna be Dusty in the end. Do I think the next real program that Hires Beard with a good Nil system will be a top 10 team going forward? Yes. Do I think Indiana is that with May? Maybe. Popular Post Stuhoo Posted February 8 Popular Post Posted February 8 Here is Dusty during an open practice. The team knows his terminology. Dusty is completely in charge. When the drill goes live? Oh yes… he is plenty intense. Nice guys can be intense leaders too: Leo, cybergates, lillurk and 6 others 6 3

Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app It’s partly why I am much more inclined towards a younger coach. A head football coach is a CEO. A head basketball coach is involved on the court. I also wonder at this point does Woody really want to win this one to prove a point, or does it not really matter that much to him?

Definitely could aim higher however if he actually was hired they would have hired an actual college basketball coach that is well respected and looked at as a very good young coach. There is a reason he is getting mentioned by national writers. It’s not just message board posters pushing it. In my opinion it doesn’t get down to him but if we ended with Gates I would be on board snd ready to roll. Probably most would turn their nose up at it and make fun of it Agree that he would be better than the last four years, but I hope that's not what we are comparing the next hire to. I mean Woodson wasn't a good hire even though his record was better than Archie's. pumpfake 1
SlammySammy Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Have we confirmed what @JerryYeagley23 meant when he said “we have our guy”? I mean if that is in fact the case, all of our pondering is for naught and we just need to hear who it is kottke, thebigweave, IUHAHN81 and 3 others 6
Muskie plays the four Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Do not if it matters but Dusty isn't scared to throw hands. Don't know if that makes him an alpha but he isn't scared to fight for a lil guy. Chris007, thebigweave, Home Jersey and 2 others 3 2

He’s done a masterful job this year. Only issue is that he’s 60 now but he’d win a lot of games McDermott was a guy that I really wanted IU to go after when he was at Northern Iowa. I was shocked that he didn't succeed at Northern Iowa. Certainly turned it on during his next job, though. Iufan93 1
JimmerNoe Posted February 8 Posted February 8 @Chris007 I know that we are all hoping for option 1 and have reasons to be optimistic, but in general how confident are you that Dusty would be a definite yes if it got to him? I know there have been some reports since last year that maybe he wasn’t as locked in for IU as we initially thought, but wondering if you had heard anything suggestive one way or another.

We will know quick if he finally starts one big. But my guess, because Michigan plays two bigs we will too, never mind that their bigs can step outside and the one guy can put it on the deck. It’s a bad matchup for the Ballo/Malik tandem IMO. But I am certain Woody wants to win this game. I’d bet it’s been circled for a while, unless he’s completely disconnected and thinks their coach is named Rusty May. Iufan93 and RoadRage 2
IndianaSconnie90 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Hoping for Dusty to jump ship to a conference opponent after only a year at Michigan feels alot like the NFL crowd that actually believes that an NFL team is going to trade for a sought after HC. Just not real likely folks OKHOOSIER, lillurk, Iufan93 and 1 other 4
SlammySammy Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I don’t want one of these guys that gets lucky every few years and makes it to the tournament….williams needs to show he can dominate his conference first….he can’t even win a conference title..I vote no….even though nobody cares about my vote

I’m not saying you (or anyone else is wrong about this) but is there any truth to this claim other than folks seeing the buyout as a little low? And it’s not really super low for a guy jumping to P4 from what I can research. I just don’t see anything to support this claim. T White 1
