I haven't checked out his twitter -- what's Sam Story saying?

He hasn’t been tweeting. He got his feelings hurt over the whole Race Thompson injury tweets.

He also says crazy stuff to just get people riled up. He said last night that Minnesota was a better job than IU. I know for sure that Scott has talked to board members about Archie’s job.

You’re the person I trust the most since you’re close to the situation, so I was hoping you would say he’s talking crazy lol

? No he didn’t.  He said some coaches might think it’s a better job which is probably true

I mention this name, not because I’m interested in us hiring. But simply just one to keep an eye on. Michael Boynton Jr at Okla St. 1st head coaching gig and into his 4th season. I don’t think he started at his job with a whole lot on the roster. Considering the whole FBI thing, recruiting is gaining momentum as well. And lastly, he’s only 39.

Only makes a mil per year, for now.

And he just beat our "chosen one" Scott Drew.  :)

I’m not sure what to think. People here and on a couple other forums are hearing he’s gone, but Brian snow on Peegs is saying there’s no buzz at all about him being fired in the athletic department. If that’s true I’ll lose my mind lol

You realize that because of covid the athletic department is empty.  Thus, no buzz.  :)

I shouldn’t even be entertaining these thought, but can you imagine with the transfer rule, the kind of team Stevens could put on the floor next year? Or any high-profile coach, for that matter. It’s a perfect time to speed up the process of being competitive.

Get the right guy, and you awaken a fan base that is largely asleep and growing apathetic, or keep the same coach, and lose even more on the program next year. It really doesn’t seem like a tough call.

I like this thinking. I also think if you get a guy like Drew or Beard you get some buzz for transfers. Especially if they can make a run this season and it’s fresh in players minds. Say Baylor makes an elite 8 or Final Four and Drew leaves for IU, players will take notice when he calls. Next year can be a good year for IU basketball but it won’t be staying with Archie, 4 years of poor play and it’s tough to sell to a player to come in who wants to win.

Yes,

With this years unusual transfer and eligibility rules this could potentially be one of the best times EVER  to make a coaching change. The right coach could possibly get some impact guys quickly while I highly  doubt “dead man walking” Archie will be able attract quality transfers.

Seen multiple reports that Little Ricky already has an interview lined up at New Mexico for tomorrow.  He can see the writing on the walls in Minnesota.  I'm certain this isn't any tactic to get a raise or contract extension.

Internet buzz (which is never wrong) has Brian Dutcher going to Gopherland. He took over at San Diego State after being Steve Fisher's longtime right-hand man there and at Michigan. And of course, his pop coached for years at The Barn.
