I agree.  He was Iowas number one over even McCollum.  Not saying he is the better tactician, but he is very well thought of.  I think he would have IU winning a lot of games his first year.

I don't think his tweet confirms that DeVries isn't the guy, just that any DeVries to IU chatter would be coming from his agent. (Which means it could be true; or could not be and he's trying to get more cash from WVU).

It was either with Sampson or Crean that we all thought we were getting Lon Kruger right up until the announcement.

Did i read this correctly?  Devries has won one tournament game - a play-in game?   Thats the best IU could do?!  
 

He may end up solid here, but I really thought IU would hire someone else.

Yeah it’s an overread to suggest Zach is saying DeVries definitely won’t be the IU coach. Just take it at face value, “he’s not a candidate at Iowa” from Thamel means DD/agent have indicated that as such. For now.

it takes two to tango.  IU and the next HC.  IU can deny it all they want.  If the next HC(DD in this situation) wants to get a jump start on things, release that information so the process can get started.
