And the downside is what? You're not successful fast enough or ever, so you get fired and leave a multi-millionaire??

Yes and no to me.  Once you win here, you are expected to stay on that same trajectory.  Or close to peak levels year after year.  Most places if you made an elite 8 run every 5 years, you write your own check.  That would get you fired here.

I will say Dan Dakich did reference something along the lines of Darian DeVries leaving Morgantown for IU approx.  4 hours ago, well before Pete Thamel said Darian DeVries is not a candidate for the Iowa job via X....  Just saying

Rumors don't hurt a program....losing for 25 years does...

It does create a toxic environment from the fanbase. Which isn’t healthy. And the next coach won’t have an anything to do with sucking for 25 years. Everyone needs to get behind him. Whoever it is.

90% of the fanbase doesn't even know about any of the rumors.  It's the losing that hurts the environment the most.

Right!  I swear to god all of these people are using my wife as a source with how confused they are.  You would have thought she was sitting in the front seat with them explaining why the map on your phone is wrong.
