Rabby in the discord chat after he's the terrible, horrible, no good very bad day;

He doesn't see Brownell as the pick.

Today he's just hedging bets on Devries being real or it being McCollum

Doesn’t he have Brownell as #2 on his hot board or something like that?  Time to update it to version 6.0!

Rabs is just now reaching the soft chatter phase.  BUT Jiminy Christmas people.  Has anybody paid any attention to any of my posts for crying out loud?  I've said McCollum vs DeVries for a week now LOL

Well despite how delusional some (most) of us are,  both of those names didnt get us out of bed a month ago. Frankly, it’s going to take a while for either of those names to get the general fan base excited.

Dolson hiring another mid major is a choice.

I would be very surprised if DeVries is at West Virginia next season regardless of what his agent may be pushing. Very well could have left Iowa City today wanting the Iowa job but left without signing a contract and is leveraging the IU job to get Iowa to up the ante, but Iowa isn’t going to be able to get into a bidding war, let alone win one.

I don't know, I've heard Ashton Kutcher is ready to dish out some major cash for DeVries if needed..

Archie Miller had a better resume before IU than Devries has right now. That’s the hesitancy I have and others- the guy has done very well at Drake for 6 years where he finished 1st in conference once. Still, a good record but not great.

I think IU can do and should demand a better candidate. I dont think that means we have to unrealistic expectations (Stevens, Donovan, Drew, TJ, May)…

I think McCollum is a more compelling candidate and I also think Brownell is a better candidate than Devries.

Curry basically saying if it’s not DeVries, then he believes it’s someone in the Brad Stevens/Dusty May/Will Wade echelon. He also says he does not believe it is McCollum, Brownell or McDermott

Got a time stamp? I’ll try to catch the IU bit tomorrow.

Hey now, they moved Cig up on the Hotboard right before he was hired, after putting him in the no longer under consideration section for weeks prior.   What are you saying exactly?

Curry Sage Spaces tonight says he’s hearing McCollum met with Iowa this weekend and couldn’t agree to terms because of NIL but he may end up taking it anyway.  Sounds like in general the NIL situation for men’s basketball is a mess at Iowa.  Brownell to IU is out.  Curry seems to think it is either DeVries or a higher caliber (Stevens/May/Wade) for IU.  He doesn’t seem certain at all…just trying to connect dots.  “Inclinations” as he called it.  He has a trusted sources that it’s not McCollum, Brownell or McDermott for IU but it is done.  If not DeVries….he thinks it’s someone “really f*cking big”

Looks like IU made one last run on Dusty according to the Coaching Changes account.

already has a better job at a much better program in a better conference.

That’s doubtful unless they can get their spend up. I really wish I would’ve saved this tweet but somebody broke down the tournament teams by last years spending. UF was below average at less than $8mil. Tops was 22mil and IU would’ve been in the top 5.

Maybe it shakes out differently, but some of those coaches are gonna learn what it means to be a football school.

He doubled down and said “if it’s not DeVries, then it’s really someone f***ing big.”

Was about to post this, didn’t hear the Devries part though, only the big fish part

If Iowa doesn’t have the NIL to meet McCollum’s demands then there’s no way they’re meeting DeVries’s, right?

Keeping on saying that does not make it true.

Darian Devries is most certainly not a “lower tier coach.” He’s just not an extraordinarily famous coach

This…I think some are going to be disappointed if/when the name isn’t Stevens, Pearl, Wright. If anyone paid attention to UK/UL search last year, then nobody should be expecting too much different. Scott should absolutely swing for the fences with top coaches but when we hire a McCollum/DeVries/McMillan it shouldn’t be a surprise. We aren’t hiring Beard or Wade unfortunately.
