There’s probably about as good of a chance that he comes here and builds IU into a powerhouse as McCollum, imo.  Collins was K’s right hand man forever. Was a good recruiter. Is a midwestern guy who would probably recruit the hell out of Indiana, IL, Ohio and Michigan like Knight used to. 
 

Of course, the downside for both would be pretty much where we’re at: mediocrity or worse. 

Collins is a really, really good coach and Northwestern is a really, really hard job. Not just admissions, but support, NIL, etc.

Taking NW to a tournament is akin to working a miracle.

He wouldn't be a sexy hire, but leagues better than Brownell.

Inside sources telling me that a call has been made to John Calipari. Not sure who called or what they wanted. Sources believe it was just a telemarketer. But a call was made.

 

On a more serious note, the Chris Collins chatter is interesting. I don’t think he’d be the worst option. He’s won at a school that’s never won before. Thoughts?

That's for those university communities to decide. I care about Indiana University. I don't know if Sampson changed after Indiana or not and have no dug into it, but while he was here the team culture was a detriment to Indiana University and its community. As far as Chris Beard is concerned, I don't believe he has changed at all.

Wow quite an assumption considering you don't even know him at all. I dont like to assume things about people I don't know but you clearly do. I don't think you would be to open minded on a jury. Too much bias for sure.

They have a legitimate case. Their tournament résumé was objectively better than North Carolina’s on almost every level. But most importantly, the UNC AD was the chairman of the committee AND received a $104k bonus for his school making the tourney.

WVU’s snub is one of the most egregious I’ve ever seen, and North Carolina absolutely didn’t deserve to get in over them.

I don’t know if there’s precedent for anything like this, and I don’t think they’re likely to win. But I think it should be interesting if it gets to discovery without being tossed out.

Ive asked around. Would shock me. Last year i think he has reasons to maybe jump ship that are not there anymore.
