I think we should be in a category that does not yet exist. Legacy school. We are a legacy school currently. We have a deep and storied tradition with many game changing moments in our history. I’m sure someone more eloquent could add to that definition.

That is just a euphemism for a Has Been.

I don't want to be that anymore.

The fans did everything they could to show support to this team today. The team came out flat and uninspired and yet we sat there cheering trying to give them energy. Just exhausting.

I wouldn't say they came out flat since they got up 17-9

Goodness.  McCollum goes from competing in a Guppy Bowl to the Shark Tank in 1 season.  He will be eaten alive.  We’ve got a Archie Miller part 2 upcoming.  Has no idea what it takes at that level to win and recruit.  F me.

You will still be skeptical, but if you haven't already, this article may help you feel better about him:

I don't think he is anywhere close to comparable with Archie in terms of ability or temperament.

I dunno. I was always no to luke warm on the Archie hire. This one I think can go a different way. I know it’s a lower level than IU and it may not translate, but the McCollum definitely wins wherever he has been. Dolson will need to surround him with a great bench and GM to help with the learning curve.

Honestly less excited than I was for the Woodson hire and that’s saying a lot because I hated that hire too. Slow paced boring offense and zero clue the athleticism that will be needed to win at this level.  He’s in for the rudest of awakenings.  Most coaches don’t need rebuilding phases in the portal era but McCollum is gonna need a few learn the ropes seasons.  Indiana isn’t the place to do that.  F Me again.

Do you guys not have a company jet? Do you rent each time?

Our company hitches rides.  Usually from the Boston Sci people.  They are the moneybags in all this.  Our part is big for us, but like 1/5 of the project.  Piss in the wind for Cook or Boston Sci.  But we support 10 other Boston Sci’s globally.  Our cheapskate company would never buy a jet.  They would just put us in coach if we weren’t offered a ride lol.

If we couldn’t get Brad or Otz or someone like this, then I am completely stoked by this hire. He’s got a long track record of winning, he’s got a strong scheme and culture, and he produces point guards—just like Cig produces quarterbacks.

Post-Archie trauma seems to be a real thing on this board, but this is an exciting day to be a Hoosier!

Let’s hope our NIL money will convince Stirtz to put off the NBA one more year.
