Are you suggesting Kentucky can’t pull away a big time coach? For Christ sakes they’ve hire Pitino out of the Big East, Tubby away from an in conference school and Calipari coming off of a huge run at Memphis. Big time programs hire from other maj conf schools quite a bit, for obvious reasons, but they don’t necessarily do it every time. Kentuckysucks 1

Pitino didn't leave the big east for UK Also show me the last few years where a lot of coaches left power conference teams for other power teams. Calipari left because he was getting heat and wanted out.

woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I agree with you here. We shouldn’t be aiming for just “better than Woodson” with this hire. IU needs to hire an elite coach. And if elite coaches say no?Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk Every time I worry about an elite coach getting IU to the promised land, I remember that both Mike and Hubert Davis have been to title games. Now, those kind of coaches won't consistently do that but it does show that roster construction is huge. If Woodson could have just constructed the roster wisely, he'd probably be here despite having bad X and O skill. go iu bb, jimsorgi, lillurk and 1 other 4

I think you're massively overthinking this. Is Brad Brownell really going to get someone excited enough to post about it like he has? He was just trying to get RTZ to respond. I think it clear RTZ was not talking about BB thebigweave 1

Hornsby Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Were the fans wrong to turn on the last two experiments? I was willing to give AM a go, MW should have NEVER been hired in the first place. I legitimately don’t know. Kentucky tried to pull Drew and were unsuccessful. That itself is not 100% indicative. I guess we will see if UNC and Kansas come open in the next couple of years. I would be curious on what type of candidate they get.
Hornsby Posted March 9 Posted March 9 That would be catastrophic, absolutely worst case scenario, IMO. Bronwell would be on the level of a woodson hire Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk SlammySammy, Hardwood83, Jet812 and 3 others 6
Popular Post Demo Posted March 9 Popular Post Posted March 9 This McCollum pace of play stuff is killing me. On 3 viewings of Drake I’m guessing he’s probably a 65 possession guy, something like that. Someone less lazy than I am is welcome to check me on that. So he’s not Nate Oats. But I guarantee that Matt Painter and Dan Hurley are sub-70 possession guys. Average fans couldn’t tell the difference between 65 and 70 possessions if their lives depended on it. Aesthetically pleasing offense has zero to do with pace and everything to do with the quality of shots you’re generating. You run a 26 sec possession with crisp ball movement that results in your guy burying an open 3 and someone’s trying to me tell that’s boring? Then you’re not a basketball fan. Find me a guy with a vision of how to play who knows to recruit to it and teach it and dude is gonna win here. BannerVille, Asha’man, 12345Brad and 33 others 31 5
