I should have said "acting like a punk" ... I don't know him, so I shouldn't just automatically deem him a punk. That is my fault. But his actions.. his actions are a problem. His coaching saying that in a post game interview is not a good look at all. Absolutely a better PG than RP, I've never said otherwise.

The ref’s decision to give someone a technical is completely independent of the player’s actions. The refs not giving Jordan a technical when he told Muggsy Bogues “shoot you ******* midget” doesn’t change what he said. You’re either ok with trash talk or you’re not. If the ref didn’t T Xavier Johnson up it doesn’t change his action at all.

I'm fine agreeing to disagree here. Woody will take in the necessary information and make a decision that is best for the program. I just don't want us to be hasty in how we label prospective players around here. The full picture is important. For example, one of the other technicals referenced in that original article is one I believe you mentioned you would be ok with (coming to a teammates defense).

The best taunter in history is Larry Bird.  Check the stories of him on Youtube.  They are hilarious.  He did it without being a punk.    He's asking guys if their mothers are watching as he schools them.

I don't know if he still has this but he used to carry a business card with his name on it that said CBB Officials and it had a cartoon picture of him giving a T to a man in a red sweater.

Just an aside, I find it interesting that typically the people complaining about the players conduct are the strongest advocates for a coach that acted with arguably the worst conduct of any coach in the history of college basketball.  It's an interesting dichotomy.

Somebody shared this earlier, but you’re telling me the best guard in the portal is a kid who has been overlooked his whole career and has a dog mentality because of it, AND he has two parents in the military?

 

I questioned Kenya’s recruiting ability yesterday but if he lands Johnson I will never question him again.
