Honkyman Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 Happy for the win. But continued poor 3-point shooting will plague this team against better competition. Green may or may not help in that department. Green is streaky so when he's on that's great. When he's not he'll be like Phinisee was today. Durham, Smith, and Jackson-Davis are carrying this club although Race Thompson had his best game as a Hoosier. Quote

Which gave us exceptional 3 pt shooting teams occasionally. I think the ceiling of a Archie team shooting the 3 will be 35-37% in a good year. Quote

Ranger78 Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 I think this team has a lot of potential. And I think this team will be better from 3 this year. This team will need to lean on the defense and evolve on offense. I’m not sure why some people are so negative after two games. JS looks like a different player this year and Hunter looks like he’s starting to figure it out. Rob is a true lock down defensive pass first PG. Al looks really good.... I really like this team. VO5 Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 I’m just hoping once we hit P5 teams on our schedule that the staff realizes we can’t start Smith-TJD-Brunk and be successful. We will get eaten alive on D. Our best lineup is either 3 guards with Smith and TJD as the 5 or 2 guards with Hunter at the “3”. Brunk should be coming off the bench IMO. The young guys are coming along and, once the veterans are all back and healthy, this team has the potential to be pleasingly good. Quote

Neither team is a world beater. PSU has a very quick point guard (who was the conference freshman of the year 2 years ago and preseason Big Sky 1st team, and preseason POY), and can make shots (made 7 three-pointers a game a year ago and made 8 today, plenty of which were contested. ) Also a team that can get to the FT line and make shots when they get there. If that's the 277th best team in the country, I'm Tom Cruise. Indiana controlled the game, led by 16 a couple of times; and we have people complaining that - in game 2 with a brand new team that's obviously growing and will get better - we didn't win by enough. Yes...there is a lot to improve, but damn, folks. Every minute won't be pretty. I don't think Kenpom means anything at this point in the season. And comparing Indiana to Duke is meaningless. Why?? schoosier Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 Did Davis get some minutes? I kinda like the saving him strategy until Big season especially since we have Brunk and TDJ that play. Having multiple bigs should really pay off this year. Quote

jk34 Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 It's too bad a handful of posters are so negative that it makes it hard to read through topics. I'm not asking for rainbows and unicorns, but damn! I completely agree with criticism, but speaking in absolutes, and only posting when things are not going well, is head scratching.
