JaybobHoosier Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 IU guy, been on staff for some time...but how would most truly feel about this? TBH, that doesn't seem like a hire that would move the needle. I would like to get a known offensive mind, similar to what Michigan did with Luke Yaklich for defense. Love Elston but this team really needs to try and get a proven assistant coach that is know for his offense. I would love an IU guy, but don’t feel Elston is the right guy for this.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app monskisprodigy, theriverpilot and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 So the Indiana HQ article mentioned that Schilling was responsible for working with the guards and developing them... Not sure we saw a lot of payoff there... ElectricBoogaloo, ebridges24, barrettballer and 1 other 4 Quote

Then if he blows CAM away and appears to be the best candidate so be it because who knows who will actually be available at this time of year.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app monskisprodigy 1 Quote

Popular Post Stuhoo Posted June 27, 2019 Popular Post Posted June 27, 2019 Absolutely appropriate to interview Elston. I am confident that this staff will not give out a job as thank you or a participation trophy. If Elston is the best candidate, so be it; but the competition for this job should and will be substantial. Crimson and Cream, lillurk, barrettballer and 8 others 11 Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Remembering back to Elston's game at Northwestern, I wonder if any 'trips' Elston does in recruiting while result in him being suspended. Quote
HoosierCoop Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Sorry if I missed it, but did Michael Lewis end up anywhere? Uh...candidate??? Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 IMO, you make a contact with Lewis. Didn't he take a job with ?? and then jumped shortly thereafter to his gig at Butler? IMO you also make a call to Guyton. Out of courtesy I suppose you contact Fife but that's as far as that one will go - a courtesy call. Oddly, I'm really not that fired up about Calbert as an assistant. Those are my thoughts if we're going after an IU guy but IMO, that's not a mandatory requirement. moyemayhem, ElectricBoogaloo, JaybobHoosier and 1 other 4 Quote

Chris007 Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 So far today I have heard Elston, Calbert, Moye and a high school coach names all mentioned. Calbert would have to really pick up his recruiting and just his drive to be a good assistant before I would give him a chance. Don't know enough about Moye to decide. I think Elston will be really good someday. I'm not going into the high school coach yet. I would also think about giving Mike Roberts a chance. Other names Guyton, Lewis, Tim Miles, Ronald Norad, Tongal, or anyone who will make us better. lillurk and Stuhoo 2 Quote

Popular Post Crimson and Cream Posted June 27, 2019 Popular Post Posted June 27, 2019 Moye helps train a ton of players out in Cali. He’s got a lot of connections. Also really enjoyed his trip to B-Town this past season. Aside from the fact that he’s one of my favorite Hoosiers ever I think he could be a valuable asset for this program.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mark1981, 323SGrant, Ryno6284 and 7 others 10 Quote

Stuhoo Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 I LOVE Nored. Not sure if he would be interested or will be considered, but the guy is an extraordinary leader. I can't imagine it could/would be Miles, but damn that'd be entertaining. ElectricBoogaloo, MoyeNeeded and Chris007 3 Quote
