Popular Post Trish Posted January 3, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 3, 2018 It amazes me how many people are blaming the coach. Did Archie recruit a single one of these players? No. He obtained a talentless roster from a coach who ran a terrible offense, taught zero defense, and held zero value for basketball IQ. 80% of this team shouldn't be playing in the B1G. Didn't this team just lose 3 NBA players while going 16-17 last year? I mean.. it just seems like common sense that this team wouldn't be good this year. Popular Post cthomas Posted January 3, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 3, 2018 When things are this bad and effort is obviously this lacking, usually something is very wrong on the inside. Curtis Jones leaving may have just been the first indication. Some are probably just playing out the string knowing CAM doesn't have many options if he wants even a prayer of winning. Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me to see another defection before the season is over. This team is going to look completely different next year...and it needs to! This is a dumpster fire right now. Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk I think 3 years to look formidable, 4 to being capable of near consistently deep tourney runs (assuming he builds the program back up). Next year will be mostly freshmen running the show, plus Morgan and Davis if he turns things around. It reminds me of the 09-10 season when people thought the cavalry was coming and going to just right the ship. They're still going to be young and learning a new system. Once this incoming class are sophomores and we sprinkle in some wings from the 19 class, then we should get rolling. When this incoming class are juniors we should have enough talent, depth, and experience to really make some noise. Until then we'll just have to wait it out and hope we find players who can make something happen on a given night. The most important thing is improvement. Archie can't afford to have a season like Creans third year. IUBBFan1970, cthomas and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote

southsidehoosier Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Dakichs comments about Davis being lazy in practice tells me there's a lot more people who need to transfer out. I dvr'ed the game but shut it off when we got down by 5 in the 2nd half. IUfan_Charlie Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Next season will almost certainly be more fun to watch because of all the young guys but I'm not expecting our record to improve much at all from this year. And I agree with Stuhoo, I think Green is gone. Quote

He spent the entire summer training and working on his conditioning, but was getting consistently beaten by Happ (footwork and in the air). Maybe he's not physically talented enough to play at this level (IDK). Whatever the case is, he's just not making much of an impact on the court. Quote

I think athletic, long bigs who can play D, rebound, block shots are what Archie is going for. He wouldn’t have ever recruited Davis. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote
