  6. tf... We have a name for that, it's Wong. lol I'm calling him Wang. You cannot spell it WANG and expect me to pronounce it WONG.

  7. CJ West is already playing on Sundays. He played in 14 games last year had 2 TFLs and a sack. There will be more. Coaching matters.

  8. The fun part of each of these hyper-talented players is watching Kensucky try really hard and strike out again and again.

  10. Wang has length and a solid base. Dear Lord for my birthday against Purdue can I hear Don Fischer say "Wang backdoor...slams it in the hole!!!"

  11. IU a program that has been down forever just brought in 5 power 5 starters ( 3 from teams that made the ncaa tourney). Also brought in a power 5 former top 40 kid that has tons of potential. IU might have money but they don’t have unlimited money. Bringing 6 power 5 players to a program that been down wasn’t going to be cheap. Don’t need to be rabjohns to see they spent most their funds on the first wave of players. Roster is and probably has been set since the staff aggressively went after the first wave of players. Only thing that’s left is to see if the on court results change. Time will tell

  12. Pete Thamel - NCAA President Charlie Baker told ESPN today that he’s “pretty optimistic” that the new aged-based eligibility proposal will happen. The DI Board of Directors met today and will recommend to not implement this rule retroactively for graduates/exhausted eligibility. “If you’ve used up your eligibility, you’ve used it up,” Baker told ESPN of the tenor of the discussion.

  14. If they want to vacate our 4-8 record… have at it lol. That said, I don’t know the answer to your question. Hammering IU for something so innocuous seems unlikely.

  15. Yep. If you bet on the sport you play? Insta ban. I would think even the NCAA could win that one in court.

  20. All that stuff gets a pass in my books. I always eff up where the 'U' is supposed to go to about half the universities in the US.

  21. Agreed. That this is where we are as a society is the most sad. That there are people outside of the IU community who think it's OK to come to campus and start shooting over a disagreement is insane. Young people should be able to celebrate a university tradition and feel safe while doing it. I don't know where we go from here but something has to change.

  22. Z is def a go to player inside when healthy. The question is her health. Saw enough last yr to confidently say she is a top 3-4 center in this league when on the court. Also, most importantly, with Jess Petrie and Kenzie Hare out of the portal to go with Lenee, you have three top-tier three point shooters. Z demands enough attention inside to open the three point line for these players. Clearly the team also had way more money for the portal this year which was good to see. I wouldn't say it was top-tier, but solid middle class money that got you three solid p5 starters in Petrie, Hare, and Samuels and a decent backup in Williams. Last year everyone who came at the time was a low end rotation player from the p5 or a mid-major starter. Clearly team went from a working class budget to a middle class budget for the portal given who they brought in.

  27. Sorsby was apparently live betting balls or strikes at Red games at $2.50 or less per pitch. He'd have bet on Lithuanian field hockey if he could've.

  28. I think that's likely. Not surprisingly, it sounds like there are Loss of Eligibility/Good Standing provisions in NIL deals. Not sure if there are claw backs, but at the least if he is declared ineligible at that point no more payments are owed. And on the rev share part of his contract, it's even more likely he's toast there. And the last complication for Brendan -- Cincy is suing him for a $1M buyout he hasn't paid them related to his transfer to TTU. What a mess.

  30. I wonder if (and expect) that his NIL deals have a termination with cause provision. And that means that TTech is likely to be without a quarterback, but their money will be refunded.

  31. Gotta love Texas Tech's PR machine trying to get out ahead of this with the headlines of him entering rehab for gambling addiction AFTER he's gotten caught by the NCAA. He should never play in college again.

  38. Still a long shot but having a lot of ties to the state of Indiana has its perks!

  39. UNC just had zero players drafted. First time since 2016. Tough scene for the "NFL's 33rd franchise." Go there at your own risk.

  40. I'm guessing IUFB is still the favorite. Especially with Nowakowski getting drafted over the weekend. The recruiting pitch wrote itself pretty much. Hands the young man a ton of hardware and tells him what kind of role he'll be playing in 812 and than tells him to look at the TV and see who the Pittsburgh Steelers just drafted in R5.

  43. In the B1G women's golf tournament, Hoosiers finished 4th but unfortunately, PUke finished 3rd to pick up a point. Next up is the men's tournament May 1-3. We hold a 9.5 to 6.5 lead with 4 competitions remaining.

  45. Open carry state. Indiana has very lax gun laws, so this is bound to happen, sadly. The city of Bloomington encourages visitors to come for Little 500, but even if they didn't, it has such a reputation that visitors would be there anyway. Police presence probably could be higher, but with open carry laws, huge crowds, and alcohol involved, its a high risk scene.

Stanton gave Tholl another lesson today in her culture and system again today. Sometimes Stanton's system of power ball and avg pitching result in the 9-8 type losses you saw yesterday against decent teams. However, the joy you see in the dugout on every pitch and the home runs being hit like they are going out of style with wins far more often than not, you more than accept the sometimes shaky pitching. Stanton has built a winning program in this sport that has not been seen since the 1980's.

  47. “We threw to our 4 tight ends combined less than Indiana threw to Riley Nowakowski who, by the way, their staff transformed from a forgotten H-back/glorified tackle into an NFL draft pick. You’ll love it here!”
