    NFL Draft

Trifecta complete! Only three players have ever won the Heisman Trophy, won a national championship and been the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft in the same season: Cam Newton, Auburn Joe Burrow, Louisiana State and Fernando Mendoza, IU

  2. I have suspected we upgraded the roster. I’m willing to say it now. We upgraded a 16-0 roster. And we play probably our two toughest games at home instead of the road. I’m so excited for next season

  3. Biggest surprise of the night? With only two O lineman out, one of the starters was true freshman Sam Simpson, three star 900+ ranked no name O guard from the state of Wisconsin. Khobie and Turbo were excellent. Shifty and with burst. With Gandy and Harris out, Bell played with the 1’s over Williams. Bell had two big penalties. Tyler Morris didn’t start in the slot (Bond did) but Tyler looked like an ultra-confident veteran. Finally… Tobi is FAST.

I think I’d rather my new organization not be notoriously horrendous, with a 2nd year coach who’s probably on his way to being a DC again, and hoping Geno Smith gets me the ball than live somewhere cool. Outside of Green Bay, it’s pretty good to be an NFL player lifestyle-wise no matter where you end up. The Jets suck and don’t look to be improving any time soon.

    NFL Draft

I hate to be that guy but the Jets and the Giants play in East Rutherford NJ (aka one of the mafia's old dumping grounds for bodies) and the Jets practice facility is deep in suburban NJ. A small town called Florham Park that's about an hour from Manhattan. Most of the players live closer to the practice facility than NYC. Still a super nice area with a lot going on, but not NYC and not exactly around the corner from where he is likely living. More Giants players live in / near NYC because they practice at MetLife Stadium too (this year they're going to WV because of the World Cup at MetLife) and that's only about 30 minutes from Manhattan. Still, most of them are in Jersey in Hoboken. The Jets franchise is so terrible. Could do worse than Geno throwing him the ball I guess. Hopefully he gets some good tape and then is traded to a competitive team.

  12. I probably won't, since there's usually someone else articulating my thoughts better or funnier than I can. But I do appreciate you guys and thanks for the warm welcome. I've been lurking the various IU sites since the unbridled optimism of the early Eric Gordan days. I've been yelled at by Coach Knight for a variety of things at camp and got the best of Brian Evans in one inspired game at the HPER. I might post again one day...

"Time to get to work(?!!?)" That loser Tom Brady just dun pissed off Dan Dakich with his cliched social media pabulum. As a Dakich disciple, I'm thinking this Brady fella will never amount to anything.

To be a young multi-millionaire in the greatest city on the planet? The football will be fine - teams tend to come and go as better and not better, and players change teams every now and then. But not waking up every morning in Phoenix (sorry AZ Hoosier) or Jacksonville-downtown activity zero as a 23 year old is a wonderful thing. This is a pretty sweet scenario for Omar Cooper.

  17. They've got a great group of young weapons in that passing game with Wilson, Coop, Sadiq, and Taylor and then Breece at RB, they just need to get a QB in there. Hopefully next April they can get the first overall pick and grab Hoover ;) (or more than likely Dante Moore).

  21. I like your optimism. I continue to hope for 1 more sneaky good move plus Big depth. The 5 for 5 thing would be a disaster. I genuinely hope that’s not what we are waiting on. Has the Leal/Goode feel from last year that lead to Ristic/Acinovic. That leaves a bad taste. Lol

  22. It's the staff's job to know... literally, it's what they're paid for. None of the FR will be asked to do "too much." The staff has seen Sisley every day since June.

  23. The staff is literally banking on that. The problem is if they aren't what you need at the spots as freshmen it leaves you very thin. Locker room culture and happy agents are the only benefits I see in that plan. (which I definitely see the benefit in) Duke has Rippey, a top flight guard almost definitely coming off the bench. And if he isn't coming off the bench he will have to beat very obvious starters for the role. (I know we aren't Duke). Other rosters I could point too as well. Illinois, NEW Texas. Anyway. We've got 7 we mostly know what we are getting. Well 5. Harris and Sisley remain with some questions. I think Devries likes to play 8 or 9. And I do too. If Harris and Sisley (aren't ready) and the Freshman. We need 3 guys to pop. And if Harris and Sisley pop you only need 1 or 2 of the freshman. So, I can see it, as I ramble on. Really want Moody to be great, and he seems like the most likely to contribute as a fresh to me.

    2026 IUFB: CHAPTER 3

Josh says he’s never went up against a defense as complex and disguised as Bryant’s. And it’s made him much better. ;-) Also, I just can't wait for the season to start.

  38. Despite the roster?? lol all of those teams always have at least a solid roster, none of them even remotely had our situation last season. And none of thought last season’s roster was the model, it was what could be thrown together. This season’s roster is already light years better and it’s not done

  39. Coach Kyle Ralph, Oglesby's current coach went to UNC. I'd bet a lot of money that Coach Ralph suggested that he at least make a visit out there. There's more to sell at the school than just Belichick's NFL connection. If I were in this young man's shoes I'd for sure be checking out the school. If he were my child, I'd absolutely point to the connections the area has for life after football.

    NFL Draft

That was close. I was sweating bullets until the Jets pulled through! I'm viewing Coop to the Jets a little differently. They're building a roster for the next franchise QB. I get it, that seems to be an endless task for this organization but it's something both Coop and McCrary-Ball can be a part of and maybe put an IUFB stamp on it in a big market. The Jets picked some solid football players and who knows if they'll pan out. Next year, they'll get another 1st round pick curtesy of the Indianapolis Colts. And depending on how bad either organization does this year they're looking at a real possibility of having multiple picks in the top 5! Next year's QB class will be solid. As a Colts fan, I'd be way more optimistic if the Colts were doing the things the Jets are doing right now. But that's just me. Regardless, I'm really happy for both Nando and Coop! Let's keep this draft IUFB players going here on day 2.

  43. Barker is going to play a lot Baldwin is going to play a lot Chandler ran the wrong route on the 2nd play, might have had a big gainer had he broke a tackle.. Our DL vs OL w/o Smith+Lynch isn't fair lol... Sharpe played in the boundary (Harris was out) but that was interesting. Jaylen Bell looks like he belongs Brunner played RT-- looks like he needs to be at guard later. Ajani :{ Landino vs Simpson didn't go well for the rookie (in pass pro) Martin didn't look good in pass pro Burrus +++ Cross dogs blitz-- Savage looked very Fisher like Garrett Reese+ Jamar Owens + FG kickers +++

History was made tonight. 1st IU had 2 1st round draft picks in the same draft. 1st #1 overall pick Corbett "Corby" Davis went to the Cleveland Rams in 1936. Who was IU football’s only No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft prior to 2026? – The Daily Hoosier https://share.google/SONVzpN89fzseIiFt
