  4. Federiko Federiko was a Big a lot wanted IU to land but they refused to pay him the 2 plus mil his camp was asking. He went to A&M and is currently playing 9 min a game averaging 2 pt and 2 rebounds a game. Portal is hit and miss

  5. I'm a lot less concerned about DeVries' demeanor in press conferences and a lot more concerned with what his actual plan is. Cignetti has been successful here because he had an effective plan and put it into action very quickly. DeVries looked like he had to pick between winning now and building for later, and rather than committing to one or the other, tried to do both. Missing the tournament won't be a death knell for him, but it's still going to go down as a wasted year.

  6. It’s been interesting watching his pressers. He knows ball, tactically he clearly gets it. He can explain the X’s and O’s to us laypeople pretty well. Harping on rebounding deficiencies too. Maybe that’s all low-hanging fruit but it suggests to me there’s minimal chance he’s oblivious to what’s gone wrong this year. Coming from Woody at least this is reassuring. In both the MSU and Northwestern pressers the way he described ILL, PU, MSU games gives me the sense he’s cognizant of just how overmatched we are size and overall talent wise to those schools. Honestly, I like that…I didn’t before. None of this matters if we assemble another flawed roster.

  8. After Leal and Galloway tried to dress down the fanbase 2 years ago, I'm fine to see this change. The whole Woodson s#!t show from that time frame left a bad taste, and ruined the fun for everyone. Mediocre Mike, this one's on you. #goodriddance Yeah, I'll be able to let it go someday. Maybe.

  10. Someone on another site posted a timeline of when each coach was hired and when most of the players committed with most the top players committing before the April 7th clearinghouse hearing and it really showed that IU was behind the 8 ball with DeVries and Adam’s 13 days after DeVries was hired as the only ones on the staff before that deadline besides Norton. I would advise people to wait until this next cycle before holding judgment however I can understand peoples frustration and not waiting giving where IU has a program is nowadays in the college basketball landscape

  12. Have to give the women a lot of credit for going 6-2 in February after the dismal start in conference play. Back on Jan. 8, in Lincoln, the Huskers beat us 78-73. Their month of February was the exact opposite of ours going 2-6 but their 2 wins were their last 2 games. For stats you'll need to go to the conference website. https://bigten.org/wbb/article/59494/

  16. On the topic of how CDD is doing, honestly, I find CDD's pressers and public statements to be frustrating. I get CDD is a quiet guy, and I don't expect him to be like Cig or someone outspoken, but we need a little more from him. He's all hunched over and rambling and uncertain. He needs to sit up, clearly explain what's good and bad, and outline the actions being taken to fix it. Part of his job is getting the fanbase believing and engaged, and while most of that comes from winning, it also comes from what the fans hear from the leader of the program. Fanbase sentiment is not good right now. Related to this, I worry about how well he connects with recruits and even the team. If I'm not inspired, are they? Perhaps they are, we've landed Wilkerson and some nice HS players, but it still worries me. Lastly, he mentioned "the hump" in his MSU post-game presser. That gave me a visceral reaction. The SID should tell him to not to use that word for the good of IUBB public relations. I could be wrong of course. This is just how I feel. I don't really know how effective CDD is day to day with recruits and the team. It just seems off so far. Good news is this can improve, and I guess it may just take some winning and it will all feel better. I don't know...

IU offers 2027 consensus top 10 CG King Gibson. Originally from Burlington, NC and currently playing at Spire Academy. Transferred there from Montverde when Kevin Boyle took the Spire gig. 21. I agree. Bland, “no juice” (like the program), put-you-to-sleep, milquetoast approach. If we win it won’t matter. Who knows, Mark Few doesn’t exactly light up a room. Hopefully it works for DD.

A little tough to see this as a thing given that he’s not some kid who just blew up and the offer list was already excellent and has been for a good while. He had a Georgetown offer when Kenny was there, so I assume that’s contact point.

  26. Yep, Louisville can't keep up. I would have thought they had more funds, but talking to several alumni with connections, they say they were middle of the pack in the ACC last year in terms of football spending. They did increase fundraising for this year, but still have trouble competing with top of conference and certainly not anywhere close to Big Ten or SEC schools.

  27. You have to pay the other 8 players. Even at low to mid 6 figures for your rotation guys you’re at another couple mil and you know the frosh were promised something decent. Need to do it like the nba and splurge or 2 or 3 guys but you can’t miss. Missing on Tucker and Bailey this year put us behind the 8 ball.

  31. On tonight's radio show DDV said the six seniors will be honored pregame on Wednesday. Says it will be 10-15 minutes before the official tip time. Minnesota (14-15 (7-11) and 2-8 in road games should be a win but.................! The Gophers average 71 ppg just 3 pts. better than their opponents. They shoot 46% FG and 35% on 3s. They average 32 rpg with a -1 margin. 5 Gophers average double figures led by Cade Tyson at 19.6/game. He's also a 42% 3-point shooter. Bobbie Durkin is a 40% 3-point shooter. They have 4 players who've attempted at least 130 3s and 3 of the 4 are over 150 attempts for the season. In comparison, Tucker has 130 attempts and Lamar 152. Dorn a distant third with 103 attempts. Their best rebounder is Jaylen Crocker-Johnson at 6.8; Tyson is next with 5.6. Good news is the season is nearing an end. The Dulcet Tones of Fisch Live Stats But The Pulse Is Very Weak

    IUFB Offseason Updates

Boom! Boles: "We have an Indiana University-branded show car ... that they use when they’re recruiting. We did a lot of things around the national championship run [and] we will definitely include some Hoosier moments in the Indianapolis 500 pre-race activities." https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2026/03/02/ims-to-honor-national-champion-indiana-football-team-at-2026-indy-500/ I'm out of free SBJ articles so I don't have the details, but this is cool.

  37. From what I understand the ACC tv deal is structured in such a way that there are winners and losers. Schools like Wake Forest and Boston College see less compared to Clemson and Miami. I think it's a new revenue-sharing model where incentive payouts happen based on tv ratings and performance. If I were pulling any strings I'd do what FSU did and threaten to leave the conference with the hopes of either the Big Ten or SEC welcoming the Cards. UofL would be a nice addition to either conference and the ACC would take a pretty big hit with them leaving.

  38. This is how all his pressers have felt to me. I'm not sure how he got through the interview process tbh

  39. I don’t hate the class overall. It’s got solid potential for sure. Especially long term. But he aimed for the fences and missed everyone. Should leave us more funds for the portal, which I like. Same as assistant coaches. Aimed for the fences. Ended up with what seems like a solid core, granted not the HR the original 2 would have been. DD might be getting signs Indiana doesn’t sell quite like he thought. Gonna have to overpay until results speak for themselves.

  40. I worry this may be the strategy. I heard Rabby or Goodman during the off-season talk about how less than 20% of kids who move up a level (mid major to p6) via the portal have success beyond being a role player. 87% had a decrease in peg, with 57% seeing a drop of more than 7ppg. There are some exceptions but it is hard to go get 8 kids from p6 schools who we can afford and who don’t bring some baggage. I like the cig philosophy of production over potential but the stats suggest that for college bball mid major kids see their production fall off when they portal up. I lwas highlighted in coverage of players like Florida’s Xaivian Lee (Princeton → SEC), who started slowly but later improved

  41. But you have to pay them again each season. It isn’t a one time windfall…lol It’ll be $12.5mil (minus) what the returnees make. Not $12.5mil (plus) the returnees. The hope is you get your guys that are happy to be here at a slight bargain vs the open market.

  43. Yea but so was Tucker and that’s on dad. Can’t miss twice like that. Im just using these names for no other reason than their familiar but for example think of if instead of Tucker our big name splash land was Lendeborg and our center was somebody serviceable like Reneau instead of Bailey. Even with Enright and Dorn starting and a weak bench we’re probably something like a 6-8 seed. Lots of pressure this year because going 1 for 3 in big name signings puts us on the brink of missing the tourney again.
    2 points
  44. You’re higher on Dorn than me. If it’s not a corner 3 he isn’t making it and he can’t play D at this level. Maybe a healthy offseason to work on explosiveness and overall athleticism can help. But he is a bench player on a good team at this level, as his ceiling. Good for a game or 2 where he blows up off the bench. I wouldn’t give up on Sisley either. Freshman coming in, rated lower than all 3 of the ones next year, and he gave solid effort. I believe he hit a wall and will improve bc of it. He is athletic enough and he brings some size. He looks all of 6’8-9” to me when he is out there. That’s good height for a PF in college.

  47. When the dust settles and the historians write about the football program at Indiana University they will all point to the day Pam Whitten was hired. She is the catalyst, the general that gave the marching orders to her athletic director, and the reason we still have Curt Cignetti and his staff still coaching in Bloomington, Indiana. For the first time in 57 years the program is going into a football season with a sold out Memorial Stadium. We continue to see 'first time' accomplishments and everything can be pointed back to Pam Whitten. As long as Indiana University continues to support and prioritize the football program it won't matter who's coaching when it's all said and done. Coaches will want to coach in 812 and I'm here for it.
    2 points
  48. You need roster retention. Can’t go out and buy 11-12 new players and rely on freshman every single season. Dorn and Sisley are absolutely pieces you need to keep. How much they play and what kind of role they take on largely depends on their development, especially in Sisley’s case, but you don’t want to get in the habit of throwing 12-13 new faces together every single year. You need some level of continuity.
