Indiana has only ever hurt itself getting out in front of things. Ignore it. Treat it like it's no big deal externally while investigating it internally. We all knew that Indiana's name would come up as blueblood and Adidas flagship. Clearly though, not being the favorite son of Adidas helped keep us out of trouble, but also out of recruitments and National Championships.

I won't feel safe about any game until this team proves otherwise. I haven't so easily forgotten last year's ugly losses, like many have. That said, if this team has any grit to it at all, we shouldn't need to sweat USI. Put our upperclassmen in. Green, Fitz, JMo, and McHustle, plus anyone else (I know, it's Langford) need to be able to handle these guys without a coach on the bench. I'm looking to keep lesser teams under 50 pts. I'd like to see opposing coaches calling time out when we're up 18-4. Do our work in the first half so Race, Damezi, Rob, Jake, and Jerome can spend a half playing together.

I can only imagine how rowdy my friends and I would be if this type of thing was around when I was in school.

I'm not coming at VO5 or anyone else I'm just saying what I have/haven't heard.

I'm absolutely certain not another coach or assistant coach in the history of college basketball has ever before used the phrase "willing to do what it takes". lol Also, the words weren't from Ostrom's mouth they were from Lasko: “This is from Lasko to Fenny,” Schachter said, reading the text to Kaplan. “‘Fenny, I am in Indiana and Coach Ostrom asked me for an update. They are super willing to do what it takes to recruit Silvio. Is that something of interest for us?’” Who knows what, if any, conversations may have actually transpired between Lasko and Ostrom but let's all go jump off the cliff anyway.

In this case Oscar didn’t want UK. He was going to West Virginia regardless of which school jumped in. At the April evaluations at warren central I sat in the section of his aau team. I got to talking with people that were in his circle. Since IU’s name was being brought up with him I asked about his recruitment. Everyone of them smiled and said he is going to West Virginia no matter who jumps in. Huggins was on him real early and Oscar’s current guardian was also the guardian of a current player. Let coach Ostrom hold a press conference to tell the entire college basketball world that we will get whatever recruit we want. Let him, at the same time, tell everyone that he doesn't think this is the true landscape of college basketball!

Well the Pacers haven't been all that impressive thus far imo. Turner doesn't look any better and Vic has decided he can't make free throws anymore. Long season but we've gotta improve drastically if we wanna make any noise in the playoffs.

This team better bring in some more competition. Tough break for Penix but and I still have hope for him but he will be behind the 8 ball come fall practice. Ramsey is not the answer. Allend and Debord better get to it!

Meh, who really cares. Being just outside the Top 25 is probably better at this point. This team is young and has a lot of questions to answer. Talented and a ton of potential, but games are won on the court.

Are you paying attention to what he's done since he got here?? IU needed Cody Zeller, but you HAVE to know (and be objective about it) that Indiana was in a far different position then than they are now. Come on, man. That's a bad example. Romeo chose Indiana over Kansas. A program with plenty of stability. Phinisee had lots of offers too. So did Hunter. Fitzner had plenty of suitors. Not sure why you're acting as though Indiana is some broken mess and the sky is falling? But you're wrong about his job. That's a part of his job. His job is to be the custodian of one of the most visible sports entities in the country. His job is to win. How he does that is not up to you. It's up to him. I gave many examples earlier of programs that went a long way and won conference championships without the benefit of 5* recruits. But okay, I'll play (and because I've been close to this process, I feel like I have a good handle on it). From the perspective of a recruit : Indiana has terrific facilities whether you believe that or not. One of the largest on campus arenas in the country. Their conference has its own network, and Indiana is still a bell cow in that conference. We're on national TV all the time. We've got several former players in the NBA; one of whom has come back to the state and is in the same league as Reggie Miller and Peyton Manning from a PR standpoint; we have dozens of engaged, loyal alumni players who will do anything for the kids and a few of those - maybe as many as any school in the country - are or have been NBA COACHES; we have a top flight business school; plenty of money; and the best technology you'll find anywhere. Leave alone the tradition and the titles you don't think matter. They do; but let's say they don't. Based solely on what you know so far about Archie Miller; why is your attitude so negative? His system is proven....just not here yet. Why are we recruiting at a higher level than Purdue or Iowa? Programs with coaches who have been there a long time? Maybe tradition DOES matter. Or maybe recruits DO see Indiana the way you want them to.
