2026 Week 1 takeaways.

  • Minnesota might be a one loss team going into 812 on Halloween.
  • UCLA might be a one loss team going into Minnesota 11/7.
  • Michigan might not win 6 games.
  • Penn State's schedule is very favorable for them.
  • SC does not have a favorable schedule.
  • Oregon is an unknown.
  • O$U is a darn good football team.
  • IUFB has to clean up a lot on the defense, in particular the run game.

Overall the Big Ten didn't look that good and week 2 will tell us a lot more.

  • O$U at Texas
  • Oklahoma at Michigan
  • ISU at Iowa
  • Miss St at Minnesota
  • Duke at Illinois

Agree with all of your takeaways.

Care to make an early prediction on Oregon v USC?

Week 2 Prediction:

OSU

Oklahoma by -21

Iowa in a 10-0 game!

Minnesota

Duke/Illinois oof. Illinois looked so average and didn't watch any Duke.

UK upsets Bama!

No predictions. I just know Oregon went undefeated in 2024 with a similar start against Boise State who ended up in the CFP that year. It's really hard to gage because a team the first two or three weeks is way different than a week 4 team. I just wonder if IUFB exposed some sort of Dante Moore kryptonite last year.

If they fix this it will do so much good for the view of integrity.  It’s not like Michigan is winning anything this year

So what is the language of the actual rule?

I saw on a podcast somebody claiming that it’s always been to use the stadium clock probably to avoid any controversy like this. But don’t know if that’s official

I don't know if I believe it will be overturned.  That opens the door for all kinds of challenges, but this is so nefarious that it is warranted imo.  Good for the MAC for fighting back.  The B1G is in the wrong and needs to be called out for such blatant idiocy. Voting UM out of the polls signifies everyone knows UM is 0-1.

Taken from Reddit:

So the question becomes if whatever clock used in the replay booth was available to NBC.

I don't think it's just Moore. Oregon's scheme is pretty basic. They generally just hand the ball off and let their backs find a seam or throw to the flat/slants and let their players talent take over. It works 90% of the time...until they play teams of equal talent or far superior coaching/preparation (hello IU.) That is why the have to have elite talent to win and why they always come up short in the big game, they are easy to prepare for.

Stein at pUKe is gonna find it tougher sledding for his PeeWee league level sophisticated offense, without Oregon's 32 5-Star difference makers.

Thoughts?

Preach on brother. I'm not sure that's true, but I want it to be.

In other news, the SEC amended their complaint against LSU, and they have a meeting scheduled on Thursday with University Presidents on the fate of LSU in the conference.

LSU just countered by adding 2 guys to their roster to make 105. Not the guys in the lawsuit. So I’m sure those two are going to sue LSU for damages and won’t it be ironic if during discovery all Lane’s collusion comes out. He really is disgraceful and bad for college football.
