Virginia and another top team I can't remember off the top of my head What about them? Those games took place in November and December. Gonzaga didn’t play anyone good for nearly three months after that. They barely beat 11 seed UCLA and then got thoroughly dominated by Baylor. They just weren’t prepared for a team this good. Zags were good all year. I don’t care they got beat in the last one. No matter what conference they would of played in they were one of the 2 best teams all year. Crazy about IU Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 They were supposed to play Baylor in the regular season but got canceled because of covid. Quote
Uspshoosier Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Two things can be true: 1. @BaylorMBB was the best team in the @FinalFour, likely all season when 100 percent healthy; 2. @ZagMBB had a remarkable season at 31-1. Andy Katz BGleas, Loaded Chicken Sandwich, madmax and 3 others 6 Quote

Virginia was mediocre this year in a very down year for the ACC so yea, in the beginning on the season they played W Virginia and played well...that was 5 months ago...did you have a point or just being a contrarian? Is that you case that they played an adequate schedule to prepare themselves for this game? Quote
Brass Cannon Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Game proves something I said all year. Regardless of how good you are. If you spot the opposition a 12 point lead by failing to show up you kneecap yourself. Good teams hold those leads Quote

It was only tough in comparison to their conference schedule. Their non-conf SOS was 112th. IU's by comparison was 73rd. Quote
