While I’d love Alexis and fits the roster really well, I think Hall raises the ceiling so much for a team like ours if he’s willing to fit in.  3 pointed scoring attack from Burton, Hall, Sherrill with others feeding off the gravity they would draw.  He’s very efficient. Seems to me it won’t be us for a lot of reasons but if the staff can figure it out, our top 8-9 would be on par with a top rated team.

Any thoughts on how Sam will fit next to Sherrell? I don't imagine we'll see much of Sam and Yig on the court together, but maybe?

Most of last year was dreadful in the front court. We now seem to have solid quality and depth there. I am less convinced about the backcourt / shooting. We should benefit from a significantly more balanced roster at least.

Some great news, was a fan of Sam last season

No doubt.  Makes the Sokolov addition virtually meaningless if so.

Burton, Lindsay, Mustaf, Harris, Moody, Sisley, Yigi, Sherrill, Alexis is a 9 man rotation. With Karvala and Manhertz knocking on the door.

While directly above quoted wanting Hall, there is zero chance we add both as even a 9 man rotation will be unlikely come B1G playing time.

Alexis has won eligibility.

Props to Mr. Cast for being the first one I’ve seen report this for IU re Alexis.

I just did the world’s quickest scan of the order. Looks like the court issued the injunction for the reasons I laid out in a couple recent posts. They actually went a step further and smacked the NCAA down for their rule that would punish schools for playing these kids. Game on. They’re eligible and in the portal.

The NCAA continues to be the worlds stupidest governing body and worlds worst defendant. They should be disbanded and the B1G/SEC should assume control of major D1 sports for the sake of all involved.

A point worth noting from the story below.  "The court order Alexis is party to also enjoins the NCAA from enforcing sanctions under the Rule of Restitution against any school Alexis plays for in 2026-27.

The players involved in the Tennessee lawsuit will be allowed to enter the transfer portal outside of the normal window. The portal will be open for those players from August 3 through August 10.

So does this mean that either Alexis confirms he’s coming back to us.  Or we have to anxiously watch the portal till rhe 10th to see if he enters?

He goes into the portal but it would be shocking if he chose to play elsewhere after just playing with this roster in Peru

I said earlier it looked like IU bringing Sam in the trip meant the plan all along was to add him, which puts all the angst we all had in the open roster spot in perspective. Assuming this does in fact mean he’s going to be back on the team, our outlook just got A LOT better

This was literally the exact opposite of last years offseason.  Time to go out there and play like the football team
