The defense needs to stay elite. The balance we have has been impressive. I don't want to get into shootout situations with teams, even though I would like our odds. I get hung up on that old adage that defense wins championships.

Re. Wyatt. It didn’t sound like Cig completely shut the door for a return this season. Big Ten championship game is 7 weeks away. He walked off on his own power. I wouldn’t completely rule out a return for PU, BT champ game if we make it there. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery.

Hey @CSP and @Lebowski...

Is Kyler Garcia still in the mix as a ready to launch D-lineman?

Honestly, no clue. If I had to guess, he's probably going to get red shirted.

Losing Wyatt is a big hit. I'm assuming they'll work something out though. I trust the the staff enough that they'll have a decent game plan to fill that void. It might not even be at Wyatt's position filling the void if that makes sense. My personal opinion is we'll get a fresh dose of Stephen Daley. He had 2 sacks against MSU and is probably the best fit for the position. He had a good statistical game against Iowa as well. Regardless, the front 7 will be creative just like they've been all season.

I don't know enough about the defense to know which position is "harder" to play, but my bet would be that Kamara is placed there - whether that be staying where he is now or the position he played last season - and the hole he leaves is then filled. Someone has to step up either way, but it's nice knowing 6 has experience at his current and Wyatt's positions.

My thoughts exactly. With Daley on the other side.

The staff will figure something out for sure. And they'll place the players at the right positions to get production.

For those deep into the IUFB recruitment world, do we think this is this a signal/message to any potential target?

Yes. Probably a lot of potential targets to be honest. He's probably just letting everyone know from his neck of the woods that there's something special going on in the 812 area. And there is.

But keep in mind, the staff has a 4 hour drive radius approach first and foremost.

It felt like Allen lived solely in Florida for recruiting. IN/OH/IL/MI has ample talent. The best in Indiana play at Indiana!
