I thought it was interesting that during the press conference DDV talked about the conversations he had with all involved in the hiring process……kind of led me to believe conversations had been going on for weeks.  Kind of debunks the whole “knee jerk” hiring comments.  I think the process was pretty intentional…..I think they got the guy they wanted, that checked the most boxes……..and most importantly a guy that wanted IU back.

He also thanked IU to allow him to concentrate on finishing the season to finalize everything.  Does seem like it was in place for awhile based on wording.  Which is why you are getting all the crazy conspiracy theories from the WVU side of things.

If i remember right I heard Scott offered him a position in the AD somewhere after everything that happened, knowing how valuable he was but Adam chose to move on. Could be wrong

Yes, we started talking to him and McCollum in January.

I heard Minnesota is a possibility too. But they're waiting on Colorado St to lose to hire their new coach.

My thoughts on how to refer to our new coach or maybe not refer to him.

CDD - NO   My mind immediately flashed to CDC and Centers For Disease Control

DD - NO     Obvious reasons

D3 - Maybe     Has a uniqueness about it although it also refers to a level of NCAA basketball which isn't good.

DDD - YES      I don't have to move my finger on my keyboard which is very important for old peepul wth rthreyetic ffungrs.

Drake was beaten by Washington State on 3/21/24…….WVU announced DDV as the head coach on 3/24.  If any WVU supporters truly believe that WVU admin waited until Drake was out to start having conversations……..well…….that’d be ridiculous……just sayin’

On a staff related note, it would at least be nice if someone would remove the old regime from the website and get the new HC bio up there. I know, they just introduced him yesterday, but they could at least have been ready to do that immediately.

No offense to the WVU faithful, but it's actually a good sign to see them all up in arms and upset with his leaving.  I remember the Crean hire and some in the Marquette fan base basically thanking IU for pulling Crean away.

Ha, IU moves very slow on these sort of things.  I've helped out as an alum on some projects with depts I used to be a student in and IU's IT, tech, approval for anything... yikes.
