So I guess Drock isn't uniting the fan base?

Well...I guess the plan is to win $hit load of games, and that will get everyone on board eventually. We expected Woody would at least unite the fanbase if not winning a lot of games, but he didn't even know Dane Fife was an IU guy.

Devries?

For sure. That is a 'lose the press release win a ton of games' guy without question.

This is a Pat Kelsey/Mark Pope kind of hire than can work out.

An added bonus is Tucker comes with the head coach.  A fully healthy Tucker on your team is a really good thing.  DeVries would do well at IU in my opinion

Agreed. It would be so much easier to get Mullins to flip if he was committed pretty much anywhere other than the 2-time defending champions.

Hurley is the best coach in the country. That's probably an insurmountable obstacle for nearly any coach.

He also said half of his players were probably hitting the portal. If true, I’d be double checking this is what I want if I were Mullins.

If Butler hires Stevens, that might be it for me...

I’ll get to be a Butler fan . Wife graduated with her masters from Butler so according to the student loan payments this is allowed lol

I seriously doubt that would ever happen though could see him doing something like what Curry is doing for Davison and willing to be like an advisor type role with a commitment financially to NIL

Do you mean that IU just got an experienced college basketball coach that is a winner?  Kind of similar resume to that of Coach Cignetti?

Yee Haw!

Go IU!

Cignetti is special and has been great in hindsight. Jury will be out on Devries for a while, but his background is excellent

Found this article from his Drake hire, nice insight.

I had listened to a podcast this summer about his HS FB coach Ed Thomas who was tragically killed by a former player.  Called Sacred Acre for those interested.  Thomas was hugely successful, extremely disciplined and no doubt a big influence on DDV.  Knew his brother was an NFL player but guess I forgot that DDV was an outstanding QB and won a couple state championships.  Always been a leader.

See quite a bit of talk accusing Indiana of tampering with him during Bahamas trip. Theory is son went out on an injury that didn't happen too. Conveniently at just the exact number of games to maintain waiver statue for next year.  If true, so what. But does tend to confirm maybe was Dolsons guy all along
